Maya entered her family home in silence.
She didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment and it seemed that Ezra had figured it out.
It amazed her to no end how the members of the De La Rue family seemed to read everyone like an open book. It's as if they could see right through everyone's intentions, they knew what everyone needed, they were aware of everyone's price.
That innate skill was probably the reason why the family had stayed on top for such a long time.
She couldn't help but wonder if it was a skill they were born with or a skill trained in them since birth.
Maya stopped at the foyer, unsure of where to go. As she stood still, Ezra took a step to stand by her side.
"You do know he appreciates it, right?" Ezra said in a low voice.
She looked at him and cocked an eyebrow.
Ezra laughed and shook his head.
