Maya looked at her son anxiously.
Gabriel was seated on her lap as Katlin drove her car.
She was too anxious to drive, she knew she would be putting them in more danger if she had.
As if sensing her anxiety, Katlin spoke up. "Mrs. De La Rue always said that any woman who could knock her son's pride down a notch would be someone she would love and admire."
"I don't think Nate is prideful," Maya thought carefully of how Nathaniel behaved, he was definitely not the prideful type.
To her surprise, Katlin chuckled and shook her head.
"I mean no offense, Madam, but Mr. Nathaniel is different around you," Katlin explained. "You should see him at work."
Maya thought back to what every article and every piece of gossip said about her boyfriend, he was indeed different.
"You have the magical ability to make one of the most dominant men in the country submit with one look," Katlin laughed.
"I'm not the only one," Maya teased back.
