Maya's fingers twisted in her lap as Nathaniel drove at full speed home.
It seemed that Clark had made arrangements for all the signal lights to turn green as they passed and traffic was stopped.
Sirens were blaring in the air as they sped through the afternoon.
Right now she didn't give a shit if people were inconvenienced by what they had done. She knew she'd regret that thought later, but right now all that was in her mind was her son's safety.
"Nico has him," Nathaniel told her as he reached out and held her hand. "The parents were all rounded up. It's up to us to decide what to do with them."
Maya couldn't think straight right now.
She knew that if she told Nathaniel to punish them all he would happily watch the world burn, but that wasn't her and she knew that wasn't Nathaniel either.
They both had to remain calm, the last thing they wanted was to do something that they would regret later on.
