Nathaniel understood Zachary's pain.
He understood why the man had let people assume that the person he lost was dead because them realizing he was a member of the Syndicate was a fate worse than death.
It was even worsened by the fact that Randolf was now one of the leaders of the very group he sought to end.
Nathaniel chuckled, breaking the silence that had engulfed the car.
Everyone turned to look at him, shocked by his reaction.
"I hope this isn't some ploy to help Randolf, Mr. Esos," he said as his expression turned cold.
"Have I given you any reason to doubt me, sir?" Zachary asked warily.
"No," Nathaniel answered. "But I hadn't even met you before lunch, there is much that is left for me to uncover."
Zachary nodded in response, "Sir, as much as I loved that man, he is someone else now."
"He's unmarried you know," Nathaniel pointed out.
