"Well, she is telling the truth," Clark said when he returned the next day after having spent all night investigating Sarah's claims.
"About everything?" Nathaniel asked, shocked that Sarah wasn't hiding anything.
"Almost everything. Honestly, I don't know if she even knew about this bit," Clark said as he sat by the breakfast bar.
Just as he spoke, Maya and Gabriel came down from the second floor of the apartment.
Spotting his Uncle Clark, Gabriel quickly ran up to greet him.
Clark couldn't help but smile when he saw the little boy, he couldn't help but think that it was a good thing that Gabriel grew up with Maya rather than Nathaniel. He couldn't imagine the poor boy being as cold and intimidating as his father.
"Uncle Clark, did you come here to play with me?" Gabriel asked, wide-eyed with excitement.
"Sorry, bud, your dad and I have work today," Clark said as he ruffled the little boy's hair.
