"She asked you to?" Nathaniel asked as he looked Jay directly in the eyes.
"She specifically told me not to tell you about where she is," Jay confessed to Nathaniel.
"At least tell me she's safe," Nathaniel pleaded.
"She was, the last time I saw her which was three years ago," Jay told Nathaniel, frowning. "But you have to understand, Nathaniel, I worry about her and that husband of hers."
"She married him?" Nathaniel asked, shocked that his adoptive mother would marry her then boyfriend.
"Yeah, after you left," Jay said, clearly trying to tell Nathaniel that she married the man because he was gone. "Which member even told you about this? I was very careful, I didn't leave a trail."
"Randolf, the Head of the Sales Department, I don't know if he was the one that found out or one of his men," Nathaniel explained.
"What did they want? Why tell you this?" Jay asked.
