"I made a promise long ago to myself that once you learned about who I am and about the perils of being with me that I wouldn't hide our relationship from the public," he told Maya as he sat next to her, holding her hand while Gabriel played with his toys across the room.
Her son had been so behaved the whole morning that Maya was starting to worry that the little child had a plan.
It wasn't that Gabriel was a problematic child, as a matter of fact, he had always been well-behaved, but Maya couldn't help but worry that Gabriel had a plan of his own.
She knew that even as early as now he considered Nathaniel to be his father. He also probably noticed how she treated Nathaniel differently when it came to Gabriel's questions about having a father.
Maya's attention returned to Nathaniel as he gently stroked her hand.
"What do you plan to do now?" she asked.
