"I'll have my people look into it," Nathaniel said with a nod as he took out his phone and dialed Clark's number.
Maya sat still as she wrapped her arms around her.
As if sensing her worry, Nathaniel came over and leaned against the headboard. He pulled her against his chest and let her rest.
She closed her eyes as she listened to the beating of his heart.
"Clark," Nathaniel said with an unnatural calm about him. "Maya suspects that Oliver Wright was drugged."
She could hear Clark speaking at the other end of the line but not exactly what he was saying.
"Run the tests," Nathaniel ordered. "Also, I want you to backtrack all of his actions in the past few days. Maya isn't sure if he is a victim or a willing participant in all of this."
He went silent once more as he listened to what his assistant was saying.
