Nathaniel refused to let Maya's feet touch the floor, claiming that she needed to be examined.
In his car he made sure to help her keep pressure on her wound to stop the bleeding, by the time they arrived at the hospital it had indeed stopped.
He knew he was overreacting, but he didn't want to leave anything to chance.
He swore to always protect Maya, and yet here she was injured in her family's own territory. It was a worrying thought, but he was certain that Carlton and Edmond would deal with it.
"Mr. Rue, your girlfriend is fine," the doctor said after examining Maya.
They had been taken to the VIP ward on the top floor and Nathaniel's bodyguards were in all the key locations.
"I'm free to go?" Maya asked tentatively as she looked at Nathaniel.
"What?" Nathaniel asked with a raised eyebrow.
Maya didn't answer, instead, she simply looked down and frowned.
"Can she go, doc?" he asked for her.
