It was thanks to Sage Astra that the countries were able to prepare so quickly. After her crystal ball showed a massive war that would be fought on obsidian grounds, she knew that the battle in the north wouldn't be the end of the ordeal with the devils.
While Astra had no way of knowing where the war would take place since she couldn't recognize the land in her vision of the future, she theorized that a new continent would appear sooner or later.
