The following day, we woke up at the jungle settlement and had a quick breakfast before continuing our work at the water canal.
We flew to the spot where we left off and kept moving the debris and trees from the canal for hours until we reached the final stretch that led to the lake.
Once we cleared the last pieces of rocks, the water was flowing through the canal steadily, and my group and I decided to sit down to rest for a bit beside the lake, which was actually quite nice.
However, the peace didn't last long as we felt the presence of lots of monsters surrounding us.
"The chief did say that the lake area was overrun by monsters…" I commented to my companions.
In the pack of beasts surrounding us, I spotted a few orangutans with a very large body—about double the size of an ordinary one.
From the lake, black giant caimans crept out and walked carefully towards us, waiting for the best moment to strike.
