Chapter 1 - Prologue

Olympus. The home of major gods, minor gods, godlings, nature spirits, and demigods but most importantly the Olympians.

They are a group of the fourteen most powerful gods and are all respected as such, well almost all of them.

Hephaestus was an exception to this as even among the Olympians he was a tool to be used and then thrown away, he crafted everyone's weapons and armour and was a major reason the Gods remained respected and admired.

But he was only seen for his physical appearance and as such was hated and disgusting to every god, his wife Aphrodite refused to touch him and avoided him at all costs except when she needed jewellery or for him to raise her kids that was born from her many lovers mainly Ares his brother.

The Gods expected him to just take it as he was lucky to even exist, at his birth Hera was appalled at his appearance as he was completely ordinary, not beautiful like her or Zeus so before Zeus could see him she threw him off Olympus he looked in her eyes as she held him over the balcony and just stared in her eyes with pure love unknowing what she was doing, he let out a giggle as he reached for her grabbed her nose and wiggled in happiness causing his flowing red locks the only thing Hera liked about him to swing over his eyes.

Hera looked at him with tears falling and a war going on in her head if she should do this, this was noticed by little Hephaestus and he tried to comfort her not knowing what was wrong her tears poured because of his innocence.

"I love you Hephaestus" She whispered to him.

She started to pull him in but the bedrooms slammed open and the voice of Zeus rang through her ears.

"Hera I am here" Zeus bellowed.

She immediately dropped Hephaestus and as he fell his cries for her disappeared as he fell.

Hera gasped in shock as she put a shaking hand to her mouth a sob left her as Zeus walked into the balcony just in time to see her collapse.

Zeus caught her as she sobbed in his chest and kept saying sorry, he thought she was apologizing to him and realized his son probably died in childbirth but in reality, she was saying it to Hephaestus for what she just did to him.

His infant body hit the jagged rocks at the bottom she expected him to die but being a child of the two most powerful gods came with benefits and as such when he hit the bottom he was practically broken and barely together but he did not die.

The infant Hephaestus screamed in pain as he was impaled and limbs broken and twisted in impossible angles, his golden ichor flowed from his many wounds staining the rocks a golden colour until the waves washed it away as he continued to reach up to his mother's embrace.

Eventually, after many weeks a woman named Thetis was walking on the beach and heard a cry as she looked at the rocks she spotted the wounded Hephaestus she rushed to his aid and ran back home.

Thetis would raise him and all after that is history.

In the present Hephaestus was in his forge furiously smashing his hammer on a piece of metal and then dipping it in water making a lot of steam spray up at the unaffected Hephaestus, sound of his forge doors opening halted his actions and as he looked at the door there stood Aphrodite looking at the surroundings with slight disgust but she eventually looked at him and looked him up and down.

Hephaestus wore an apron over his chest with no shirt under showing off his large muscles from his constant use of the forge, his bottoms were ragged grey trousers which had a belt that held a variety of tools and to end big steal toecap boots and had high laces that were undone at the top.

'He does look sexy when he is in full uniform and his unruly red hair and beard do add a certain mature look to him' Aphrodite shook her head and focused on what she came for.

"Hello, husband~ I need something" Her sickly sweet voice wormed its way into his ears unsettling him.

'She only ever talks to me when she wants something, it's so tiring' Hephaestus groaned in response to her which she took as her cue to continue.

"I need a new bed as it broke because Ares decided he wanted to be rougher on me last night....." Aphrodite stopped as she realized what she just said and gave a sheepish smile to him.

Hephaestus eyebrows rise in both shock and confusion but lowered as he came to terms with what she asked of him.

"Did you just ask me YOUR HUSBAND to fix your bed after my brother broke it when he was fucking you to oblivion!?" Hephaestus shook with anger and got close to her, she tried backing up to leave but was stopped by him holding her arm.

"Is there something wrong in your fucking head you whore of a Goddess" He shouted.

"I am not a whore you ogre" She insulted and pulled her arm to escape but failed.

"How are you not a whore! You fuck every living thing in your eyesight, every God, demi-god, and anything that can have sex you have fucked all except your husband, and somehow you are a Goddess of "Love" and "Beauty" you have broken more relationships than I can count solely because you wanted to fuck one or even both of them and finally you may be beautiful on the outside but inside your as rotten as they come, you are truly inside the most hideous being I have ever seen" As Hephaestus finished his rant he was about to dismiss her as he knew if she stayed he would do something he would regret.

SLAP!!

A loud slap bounced around the forge as a handprint found itself on his face, he looked at Aphrodite and saw her outstretched hand and tears in her eyes.

Hephaestus looked down darkly as he mumbled something inaudibly to her.

"What?" she pushed out

"We are done"

.....

Aphrodite confused repeats her question.

"We're done, I am getting a divorce" Hephaestus pushed past Aphrodite as he left the forge making his way to the main hall.

'Divorce with me the Goddess of Love, no no that's unacceptable

She rushed to him and as she got outside she saw him walking away towards the meeting hall and again set off to stop him.
