Waking up In a cold sweat, he quickly shot up, breathing heavily.
'Oh, thank god, it was just a nightmare.' Thought Noah.
He looked towards his watch, realizing it was already 7:00.
'Crap! I'm gonna be late for school!' He thought.
As he got out of bed and started rushing to pack for school, he heard his mom in the kitchen. He heard her say "Honey! Breakfast is ready. It's already 7:00, make sure you don't be late on your first day driving!"
"Okay! I'll be out in a second!" Said Noah as he finished packing his bag and getting changed.
After he finished getting ready, he grabbed his backpack, heading out to the kitchen.
He quickly gulped down his breakfast, which was bacon & eggs this morning, made by his lovely mom like always. Finishing his breakfast, he was very excited for today. After all, this was the first day he would be able to drive to school, having gotten his license the day before.
Putting his dish in the dishwasher, he quickly hurried out the door, saying goodbye to his mom.
"Bye mom, love you! I'm going to school now!"
"Okay Honey! Drive safe!"
"I will!"
…
10 minutes later, He had already arrived at school. Walking into the building, he went to his first class, which was Physics.
Bored of the lecture, he started zoning out, thinking back to this morning, and the nightmare he had. For some reason, the nightmare was so vivid it was almost like it was one of his memories.
…
The nightmare began with him waking up and going to school like he had done this morning, creepily similar to what had happened so far in the day, almost too similar.
He had walked into the first period in the nightmare and just like so far, the teacher was lecturing the same exact thing. But after a little while, what he expected was around 15 minutes, things turned to the horrible and crazy side of the nightmare.
From the announcements, the principal had stated that they were in a code red, which meant there was an immediate threat of danger, and to lockdown the entire building. People were chaotic, but then the teacher calmed them a bit and quieted them down, leading them into their designated lockdown spots, after the teacher locked the doors, turned off the lights, and put the blinds down by the windows. It was almost completely pitch black in the room.
After they hid for a few minutes, they heard a girl get murdered in the hallway, and the ominous footsteps of some kind of monster. Hearing the girl die, one of the girls in the classroom whimpered loud enough for the monster to hear the girl and figure out that there were people in the room. The monster had walked slowly towards the door, eventually making it to the door. It banged on the wood door, hearing the wood slowly creak, hitting it harder the next time, over and over again. Eventually, it banged on the door so hard that the wooden door and lock gave out. The wood shattered, and the door flung open. The monster had broken into the classroom.
The monster made its way into the room, looking around, seeing nothing but emptiness and darkness. But it didn't give up, starting to walk around the room. Eventually it made its way all around the room and walked up to the large countertop in the room, where they were hiding. It went around it, spotting all the terrified students. Their eyes locked for a few seconds, the students were frozen by fear and the mysterious force the monster-like thing was exuding made them unable to move. But after a few seconds the monster reached out to grab one of the girls in front, the students still unable to move. It touched the neck of the girl, and then…
…
He was forcefully shaken back to reality by the lockdown alarm singing over the lecturing teacher.
Now Alert and a bit scared, he heard the voice of the principal over the announcements.
"This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. All students and staff, we are in a code red. Please lockdown now."
Immediately, everyone started freaking out, screaming, and running around trying to find a place to hide. In the ensuing chaos, the teacher's voice yelled over everyone else, getting their attention and silencing them.
"ATTENTION! Please calm down, everything will be fine, just do as we have practiced in lockdown drills. Please go to the designated hiding place in the room, and stay quiet. Don't worry, the situation is all under control, I'm sure everything will be over soon."
Even though the teacher had said this, he was also extremely freaked out and scared, and honestly wasn't sure what the situation was outside, and if they would be safe or not. Even so, he knew he had to put on a facade, and ensure confidence and trust in the students. It was his job to make sure that his students were safe and un-injured, and would make it back home alive and safe.
Knowing this, the teacher led everyone behind the desks and counters, out of the site of the door. He had also locked the door, turned off the lights, and lowered the blinds on the windows.
Meanwhile, Noah was equally as scared and freaked out as everyone else, but even though he knew that the chances of the teacher being correct was high, he knew that the chance was still there, and that only made him more anxious.
…
5 minutes later, they were still sitting in the darkness of the room, huddled together like a bunch of scared animals. They were all visibly shaking, still very scared and impatient, praying from the bottom of their hearts that nothing would happen to them or anyone else.
Out of the silence, a whisper could be made out, coming from one of the students. In a raspy and scared voice, they said "I- Is it almost o- o- over?"
In response, another student could be heard in a sharp and impatient whisper, saying "Shhh! Don't make a sound!"
Not even a second later, a sharp and loud scream could be heard, coming from the hallway. The students started shaking even more irritably, almost not holding in their anxiety and cries.
The same voice could be heard again, but this time saying just one word.
"HELP!"
Hearing the deadly scream for help, the students felt irrationally compelled to get up, and run to save the girl in the hallway. Some students even made a move to go, but they were held by other students and their friends, knowing that it was a death sentence to even make a sound, let alone go and help someone.
For the next few seconds, it was deadly silent, more silent than you could ever imagine. In this deep, dark silence, footsteps could be heard.
The students were counting in their heads, as the footsteps slowly made their way across the hallway.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
Ten.
On the tenth step, a bloody scream could be heard, enveloping the entire school. The scream was of a girl, and one seemingly in unimaginable pain, dying, letting out one last scream, letting all their pain and misery out.
After this scream, all of the students stopped shaking, knowing exactly what had happened right outside of the door to their room.
The poor girl was dead. She was dead. This was all that they could think, knowing that they had just witnessed and heard a murder even if they didn't see it with their own eyes.
In shock, one of the girls in the classroom let out a loud whimper, echoing throughout the room.
All the other students in the room immediately shot their gazes towards the girl, frightening her greater and making her even more anxious than she previously already was.
All the students knew that they didn't have much time left. There was no way that whoever was outside the door, if it even was human, didn't hear the girl. They were truly doomed, and the realization set in the hearts of the people there.
…
Meanwhile, outside the room in the hallway, was a horrific scene that truly put to shame any nightmare or hell.
The walls in the hallway were spewed with blood, guts, brain matter, and other bodily fluids. There were the remains of the main parts of the body on the floor. The body seemed to have been squeezed so hard to the point that the entire body imploded, like someone had blown up dynamite from inside it. The hallway was mostly dark, with the lights barely hanging onto the ceiling, flickering rapidly.
Next to the body of the dead girl, there was a human-like silhouette. It was covered in blood, bodily fluids and grime. Its body was of a giant of a man, about 2 meters (about 6 '7). Although its figure resembled that of a human, it was covered in a thick, black liquid that seemed to act as a solid, but flowed and churned around its body like a liquid. It was a tight suit of Armor-like clothing, making the armor appear to be smooth and shiny. Its body was completely covered in this except for its head. Its head resembled a full medieval knight's helmet, but where the openings of the helmet were, there weren't eyes, a mouth, or any part of the head. Instead, there was just an ominous red light that seemed to go on forever, like the void of the abyss.
This ominous entity was facing the wall, but immediately whipped its body around, to face the door of the classroom, after hearing a whimpering sound coming out of it. It slowly made its way to the door, taking its sweet, old time.
…
Meanwhile, back in the classroom, the kid's suspicions were proven to be true. They heard the booming footsteps once again, slowly walking towards the door. Although they were all very freaked out and scared out of their minds, more than they ever thought possible, the one that was the most freaked out and scared was the one and only, Noah.
"I- I- It's th- th- the same as my dream! W- w- w- what is happening!?!??!?!? Please let this just be a nightmare like before, like how it was before. That could never happen, right?"
Noah, shaking violently, pinched himself as hard as possible, but he didn't wake up. He took his thumb, biting down as hard as possible, bleeding all over inside his mouth, but he still didn't wake up. He accepted the revelation that this was real. His nightmare turned out to be real. His dream, the one he had last night, was coming true right in front of his eyes.
…
Meanwhile, out in the hallway, the monster had reached the door. Once it was right next to the door, it lightly knocked. Then a second later, it knocked a bit harder. It knocked again, knocking a bit more violently than the last. After not even 15 knocks, it went from a gentle knock to so violently that you would think that the door would break already. On the 16th knock, the door started to creak. On the 17th knock, the door had a noticeable dent in it. On the 18th, the wood started to crack. On the 19th knock, the door was creaking very loudly, and there was a huge crack spider webbing across the entire door. Finally, on the 20th knock, the door gave in. it swung in violently, and shattered like glass. Only half of the door was left, as if the other half had just exploded.
…
In the classroom, all the students had already given up on even thinking of fighting back. Whatever it was that was right outside the room, and had just broken the door, was so unbelievably strong that it could easily shatter a door into pieces. They knew they had no chance of surviving a monstrosity like that.
'Welp, I guess I'm dead.'
Noah thought. He was already mentally prepared for this now that he knew that his dream was most likely going to happen for real. He would die, and he had already accepted that.
But, after realizing this, there was a deep and dark desire splitting out of his heart, faintly reminding him of his life so far and everything in the future.
He had a loving family, lots of friends, interests and talent in subjects, and promising grades that would allow him to have an amazing and successful future career. There was so much to live for in his eyes, and he wasn't willing to give up his life on a whim like that.
Other than that, he had a different feeling that he had never had before. He had a burning desire to protect his family, friends, and even the strangers that surrounded him in the class. He deeply desired to see others being happy, optimistic and most importantly alive.
'If nobody else has the courage to step up and protect everyone else, then I guess I'll be the one to do it. It's better than sitting here and waiting for my death, at least I may be able to save some other people, even if I die in the process.'
Suddenly after thinking all of this, he had an enlightenment. It felt like something had awakened inside, that had been locked away deep inside of him for his whole life. It was such an amazing feeling, he felt like he had ascended into heaven and gained true peace throughout his whole being.
He realized that his eyes were closed, and he slowly opened his eyes. Time seemed to have stopped as he looked around the darkness of the room he was in.
Everywhere he looked, he saw beautiful and magical particles that seemed to glow, lighting up his vision. There were a countless number of them, and they were all unique. Some of them were blue, others were brown, red, green, and many other shades and colors.
Some of them were even clear and radiated light, as if they were a light particle itself!
There were even some black particles that seemed to radiate darkness.
The tiny, magical, sphere-shaped particles were all different sizes, some were small, but others seemed to be enormous compared to the others, hundreds of times bigger than the smallest particles that he could see.
When he looked at the magical light particles, he felt a sense of familiarness and connection with the light particles.
After feeling this, Noah couldn't help but try to reach out and grab them. Using all of his will to try to connect with the particles of light.
He saw the light particles start to gravitate towards his fingers, recognizing and even attracted to his presence.
They slowly moved towards him, eventually making it to the tip of his finger.
When it touched him, a feeling of great warmth and comfort radiated throughout his entire being, and he seemed to resonate with the singular particle.
It entered through the tip of his finger and ran down it. It went through his entire finger, then down his hand and arm, and kept traveling. It eventually reached the core of his being, and it seemed that it was trying to melt down and fuse with him.
But when it tried to fuse with him, his body rejected it.
An unimaginably horrible pain shot throughout his body, freezing him to the core of his being.
His body worked at full force, slowly forcing the particle to leave his body.
After what seemed to be an eternity, the particle exited his body, going back into the atmosphere.
The terrible pain ceased, and his body went back to its state prior to the attempted fusion.
At this point, he came back to his senses, realizing that in reality only a few seconds had passed, even though it felt as if it had been an eternity.
Coming back to his senses, he looked at the people around him, realizing that their bodies seemed to be made out of the particles, tightly compacted to the point where it seemed to glow. In the people's vital areas, the energy seemed to change to a red aura, as if it was more densely compacted energy.
'I can see people's vital areas! Hmm, I wonder what it would look like if I looked down there?'
He instinctively looked down to their private areas, but jerked his head up knowing that that shouldn't be his biggest concern at that moment.
Clearing out his mind, he strengthened his resolve knowing that he would have to do everything in his power to protect the lives of the people in the room and give them time to escape or allow at least one of them to survive.
He would do anything to protect the people that surrounded him, even if they were complete strangers to him.
…
Meanwhile, in some place far, far away a few minutes before Noah's enlightenment, there were 2 entities standing in what seemed to be a void, observing earth.
One entity kneeled down in the direction of the other entity, which radiated an aura of pure power, destruction and darkness. He radiated a suffocating pressure, as if he was a god that could bend the very fabric of time and space.
The kneeling entity spoke to the lord.
"My lord, we have initiated the first step in plan Apocalypse. 200 rank 1 gates have been opened across each continent, totaling in at 1400 rank 1 gates."
Hearing this, the lord was satisfied, but was a bit confused.
"What about the rank 2 gate?"
The lord asked, his deep, old powerful voice echoed throughout the room. The pressure he exerted seemed to get more intense, as if he was in a bad mood.
"I- It seems that the rank 2 gate was closed due to a Human entering it. A few minutes after the rank 2 gate appeared a human managed to touch it, closing the gate and transporting the human somewhere in the Abyss."
The kneeling replied to the lord, talking in a shaky voice.
The lord, hearing this information became a bit more enraged, but also very confused. Somehow, the pressure he exerted became even more unbearable, making the kneeling entity barely able to hold his place without being crushed to death.
"How could a mere human, a meager weak animal manage to even enter the vicinity of a gate, and a rank 2 one at that! Even a weak rank 1 gate can crush the body of a meager human before it would be able to get even remotely close to it. Are you lying to me?
The pressure exerted by the lord increased tenfold, slamming the kneeling entity straight into the ground, barely remaining conscious. Although close to death, it still answered the god-like entity called the lord.
"N- no m- my Lord. I- if you even suspect me of treason, I- I w- will gladly a- all- allow you to kill me."
The now almost dead entity responded, barely able to form words due to the immense pressure grinding his flesh and bones into powder.
Suddenly, the lord's pressure disappeared, as he completely focused on the planet earth, noticing an oddity.
"Hm? What is this, A mere human in the vicinity of one of the gates tried to absorb energy, and of the light type as well! This shouldn't be possible, humans can't even sense energy or detect its presence let alone interact with it. It's almost as if it has gained the power to sense energy like entities, but that should be impossible. Humans are mere animals, their bodies aren't fit to absorb or interact with energy in any way."
The Lord paused for a second, then continued speaking.
"It is intriguing though. I guess times are changing, for a mere human to accomplish a feat that only entities are capable of, even if it is something so trivial as interacting with energy. I guess I will have to continue watching to see what will happen! There's no reason to interfere, it isn't like there could be humans possibly gaining even the littlest amount of power, let alone interfering with the destruction of earth."
The Lord went quiet, and continued to observe earth quietly. The other entity spoke to the lord before he went to leave.
"My lord, when shall we put step 2 of plan Apocalypse into action?"
"The humans are surprisingly entertaining and interesting! Oh, give it a few years. I want to give the humans a bit more time to live, after all they are quite entertaining!"
The lord responded and laughed, surprising the entity. After all, when would he ever think that the lord, a being that transcends the realm of entities, otherwise known as a god, would laugh? Especially in the presence of an entity, a mere ant to him.
After that, the entity left the room, leaving the lord sitting there in silence, finally being able to unmask his full presence in peace. The pressure that he exerted was so great that the space around him shook, almost warping in his presence.
Anyone even observing him would know that he was on the level as a god, that he was a being that transcended all limitations.

(Author's note: we already hit 10,000 words! This is taking a lot longer and is harder to write than I thought, but I will continue! Also, the center of your being is usually located somewhere in the middle of your abdomen, just so you aren't confused in the future.)
