Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

In the middle of the night, I scream, sitting in bed. Putting my hands over my face, I still see Chetan fall helplessly to the ground. I see the pool of blood around him, and the slit in his throat. Even though I killed Dixon, I feel like I killed Chetan.

Chetan sits up, rubbing his eyes. "Oh babe, it's alright." He rubs my back.

"I keep seeing myself kill you."

"You didn't kill me, you killed Dixon."

I nod. "I know", I cry.

He wraps his arms around me, pulling me back down gently. He brings his lips to mine, kissing me sweetly. "Let me make you feel better baby."

He takes off my shirt and kisses me in between my breasts. Rubbing my hands over his chest, I look up at him.

You're so beautiful," he kisses my nose.

"Chetan, this time will you not pull out?"

"Is that what you want? He looks down at me.

I nod.

"I was thinking the same thing," he tells me, sliding down my underwear.

The next morning, I feel Chetan kissing my neck. Still comfy warped in the blankets, I didn't want to open my eyes.

"Ajay called a pack meeting," Chetan tells me.

"What now", I slowly sat up.

Chetan gets up sliding on his Pajama bottoms, he tosses me his flannel.

We walk out towards the pack, hand in hand.

"I'm glad you two can make it this time," Ajay laughs.

"Your lucky Zare tried to pull the same stunt," Chetan says.

"Lies."

Everyone laughs.

"Last night, Cricket and I took off to find answers. Dixon was a shapeshifter, and he was in fact leading the ghosts as a ghost, but only because he could change his form. I got answers from the sirens and the ghosts," Ajay explains.

"Do the ghosts want to live with us in peace?'' Smoke asks.

"Yes," Ajay says with a smile.

No more fighting was music to everyone's ear.

"So was he ever a werewolf?" Dev asks.

I don't think so," Ajay answers.

"The siren says he wasn't a mythical creature, just a guy who could shape-shift, but with magical powers, it allowed him into the forest." Cricket answers.

"What a poser," Dev says.

I hear the chuckles around me.

"There will still be zombie runs, but I think everyone can relax when going on runs. We are finally safe," Ajay ensures us.

I hear many of the members let out a deep breath. This is the first time in a while when Ajay told us that we are all safe.

"Meeting adjourned," Ajay says with a grin.

I watch as the pack members all head in different directions. But Smoke and Cricket appearance Chetan. I stand off to the side, still listening to the conversation.

"Hey man, I wanted to apologize. I acted like an asshole," Cricket says.

"Me too,'' I am sorry, says Smoke.

. Chetan looks at them for a moment. "It's cool." They all fit pump each other.

I feel the happiness inside me, I was glad they worked things out.

Chetan walks over with a smile, telling me he was just as happy as I am.

"We are going to sleep at the Vampire cave tonight." He tells me.

"We are?" I feel excited. Time alone with Chetan.

I wrap my arms around his neck. And he grabs my waist.

"I can't wait to be completely alone," he tells me, nibbling on my ear.

Moments later, Chetan and I race to the vampire cave. I feel the wind wipe my fur. The ground crutches beneath my feet. I run wild, happy, and free.

We finally make it to the cave and change into our human form. My mouth hits the floor. I see blankets set up, a bottle of wine, and flowers everywhere.

"Ajay, help me sit it up," Chetan runs his hand through his hair.

"I love it." I sit down on the blanket, and Chetan joins me, sitting behind me.

I lay back into his chest. I smile being able to hear his heartbeat. Glazing around the cave, I notice some little things left over from the vampires.

"My notebook! I can't believe it's still here."

I move over and grab the book in my hands. I trace my hand over the cover, remembering the lonely days I spent writing in it.

I turn the page and find the note I left Chetan.

Ripping the page out, I smile. "I finally get to give this to you."

He smiles, taking the paper from my hands. He reads:

Chetan,

During my time away, I realized how much I actually love you. I close my eyes and see your face. I hear your howl miles away, and it sends shivers down my spine. I am sorry for my mistakes with Ajay. I thought I loved him, but I know that you have my heart. I miss you.

-Forever Zare

I see tears in Chetan's eyes. I feel the same way hearing him read the note I left months again.

He grabs my face in his hands, I look into the eyes of the man I choose to be with every single day for the rest of my life. I love him with every inch of my being. Not because he is my mark mate, but because I can't see myself without him again.

"I love you Zare forever." He tells me, rubbing our noses together.

"I love you for eternity."
