The world spun around me, a dizzying whirl of colours and sensations that made no sense. One moment, I was walking home, then next, I was... here. All at once, my senses came back to me and I could feel my feet step onto solid ground, and the spinning ceased. Blinking slowly, I slowly registered what it was that I was now looking at: a sight that defied common sense.
I stood in the heart of a forest unlike any other. The air was thick with a fragrance that as both sweet and sharp, filled with the calls of creatures unseen. Towering trees, their trucks wide as houses and leaves shimmering in hues of emerald and gold, loomed over me reaching towards the clear skies above. It was beautiful, surreal and something that I couldn't possibly be looking at.
Confusion wrestled with wonder inside my mind.
"Where am I?"
The words slipped out, a wisp of air escaping my body before I could even hold it in. Of course, no answer came; the trees stood silent, their branches and leaves swaying gently in unison.
I couldn't be here right now, I pinched myself in a rather cliché fashion. I should be in the city, where the only things towering over me would be apartment buildings and street lights, yet here I stood.
The need to find a way out, to find any sign of civilization, urged me forward. The grass beneath my shoes wasn't overgrown, nothing was, but it didn't look disturbed at all. The forest seemed endless, a labyrinth of natural beauty and mystery, leading me deeper into its strange embrace.
As I made my way through the forest, I found many things that challenged my common sense. Leaves of all different colours of the rainbow, shrubbery that looked like they were dancing together, strange plants of all shapes and sizes. The forests that I remember had all been shades of green, orange and brown, but this forest was filled with vibrant colours and strange sights. There was even a couple of animals that looked like squirrels, but weren't - at least to what I remember squirrels looking like.
After what seemed like an hour, a clearing emerged, like a scene from a dream. At its heart lay a small pond, its waters glistening under what light found its way through the canopy of tall trees. My throat parched, I threw caution to the wind and gave into my primal need for water and ran toward the water. Just as I was about to scoop a handful out, a translucent box appeared in front of me, materializing from out of nowhere.
[Rarity: Legendary] it declared.
The sudden appearance of this see-through box shocked me, sending me stumbling backwards. My scream and sudden movements caused whatever animals hiding among the trees to scatter and fly away. This sound of wings fluttering into the distance brought both the scene and my mind back to normal and I leaned forward to touch this box that was floating in front of my eyes.
