Chapter 19 - TRAINING

Was this how death was?

Ernest was frustrated at himself.

He had just died recently and had allowed himself to die again by some robot at that, what else could go wrong?

He felt like he was in a libido... a coma.

Was this really death?

If it was how come he could see some kind of timer that was counting down from 15.

What the hell would happen when it reaches 0.

Whatever!

He was about to find out himself anyways.

Ernest felt himself falling again - just as he had when he came - immediately the timer reached 0.

While falling, he could see his base floor again and this time he was a little prepared for the landing.

With a soft thud to the ground, he was sure he landed well, but wasn't sure his body had. it felt like some of his limbs bones had shifted, thankfully the respawn area had a healing attribute, so he was immediately healed.

Ernest was about to go on again, when he noticed a small screen that was almost transparent to the eyes. It seemed like it was instructions this game or so

He tapped on it and it changed its reading.

Welcome to HUNTERS ARENA!

[ Swipe down with your left hand to open shop windows, where you van purchase BUILDS, BLESSINGS, CURSES AND WEAPONS.]

Ernest did so and another screen, twice larger than the first popped up. When Ernest glanced down, he was mesmerised. Although he didn't know how to use them properly he was sure he would get the hang of it soon.

He decided to purchase some boots first; MIGARDS BOOTS, that had a special ability to improve the movement speed of the player. The moment he purchased it, he felt something touch both his legs. Looking down, he could see that his feet were covered with thin polymorphic stuff that looked like a pair of shoe.

Going along with the flow, he bought two more attack builds; Hunters gaze ( it gives player 15% damage and 10% chance after every 5 basic attacks) and Incendio ( which gives the player 20% attack speed, 4% damage and a special attribute of 2% movement speed after every attack - skill included.) With his remaining little money, he bought a dull sword from the shop.

He noticed that they mentioned skills in the screen, so he searched for his skill slot. Finding them at the top of the screen he tapped on them and saw this.

SKILLS

SKILL 1 - Undeveloped.

SKILL 2 - Undeveloped.

SKILL 3 - Undeveloped.

ULTIMATE - Undeveloped.

Ergh. What was the use then? No the question was how he could develop his skill.

Thinking of those means he darted down the lane he had previously entered. All through those time that he had stayed in his base, the enemy had already pushed his tower to the second one.

Ernest got there and luckily for him, there was no enemy robot there although that didn't make him lower his guard. He was able to clear the little robots or minions as he had seen the name on the screen showing their HP and other relevant information. All these where the things he was unable to notice because he previously had no idea about what was going on. Now, even though he still didn't have any idea, he was figuring things out slowly which to him was better than nothing.

Ernest looked around again before he moved closer to the enemy's tower, waiting for his minions so that he could attack the tower using the minions as scapegoats to avoid getting hit. As he looked around, his gaze caught something up in the sky. it looked like a giant screen that seemed to be facing had m regardless of where he moved, not only that, it was also showing something in gold and indigo, some numbers which was" 12 : 15." He didn't need to rack his brain to understand what it was because the moment he heard the announcer announce that his ally had being slain, the silver number 15 changed to 16, so it was pretty much a death count.

The minions came, his and the enemy's, and with his help they were able to destroy them and advance to the enemy tower. Ernest wasted no time in attacking as soon as he saw the HP bar. The announcer announced again the death of two of his allies and Ernest decided to help out his allies even thought they were just dummies.

Leaving the enemy tower, which was almost destroyed, to his minions he went to the path that divided the middle of the whole arena.

On his way, he saw an enemy robot some feet's away from him, it didn't seem to be paying attention to him. It was finally time for his first real kill. Already being an expert in killing, he knew how to handle the situation quite well.

With his movement speed now increased, he dashed towards the robot and in a clean swift movement swung his blade at the neck of the robot.

If he had a sharp blade, it would have probably done more damage, but due to his build effect, he was able to hit it to the ground with more power and damage.

The robot, HP reduced a bit, stood up and faced its attacker. Shiver ran down the spine of Ernest. Why?

It was the assain enemy robot that had almost killed him and was insanely strong.

It drew out its two daggers and lurched at Ernest.
