Alex allowed a few tears to escape his eyes to ease his pain as he tried to encourage his sister.
"Before Mum died, I made a vow to her that I would never follow in dad footsteps because of all the wrong choices he made. I also promised her that I would protect all three of you and defend you from all enemies. What I didn't expect was finding out that I had one more sister to love and protect."
A smile crossed Alex's sad face and gradually faded away as he thought of all the special moments he shared with Abigail until he found out that they were related.
