Adrian arrived home from work, holding a captivating bouquet of pink roses. He had missed Stella so much and he was eager to see her and surprise her with his gift.
When he was welcomed at the mansion entrance by Rosaline, he handed his briefcase to her and swiftly discharged her with some urgent instructions.
Thus, Rosaline didn't get the chance to inform Adrian of Valerie's presence or the fact that she was snooping around the house.
Adrian didn't bother to ask Rosaline about Stella's location. He was hoping to find Stella either at the outdoor lounge, the garden or the indoor pool. He knew that aside from her bedroom, these places happened to be her favorite spot in the mansion- where she could sit quietly and read her novels.
First, Adrian went to the garden and quietly searched for Stella. When he didn't find her there, he visited the outdoor lounge next. To his disappointment, Stella wasn't there either.
