Stella stood with hands pressing the dresser behind her unsure of what was running through Adrian's mind. She had no idea of what Valerie had said to him or what she was doing alone in the sitting room.
Valerie had initially insisted that she would be the one to welcome Adrian when he arrived. She also insisted that Stella must remain in her bedroom until she came to fetch her.
Hence, when Adrian showed up inside the bedroom instead of Valerie as planned, aside from being blown away by his devilishly handsome look, she was worried about Valerie's next plan of action.
She had already made up her mind to play along with some of Valerie's selfish schemes until she found an escape plan of her own. However, one thing she didn't know was Adrian's intentions of keeping Valerie as far away from her as possible.
