Valerie glared at Stella for a while as so many poisonous thoughts clouded her head. She couldn't believe that destroying Stella's phone the previous day backfired on her in such a demeaning way.
Ever since it finally dawned on her that Adrian actually dropped the call on her, she had been restless.
Instead of Adrian calling her directly like she initially planned, her phone didn't beep or ring for even half a second. Whereas, she had watched Stella's phone beep twice the previous night and now it was ringing this morning.
Something in her wanted to smash the new ringing phone on the floor just like before. But she knew that for every destroyed phone, Adrian might as well get Stella a dozen new, better and improved smartphones.
This made her realize that attacking Stella physically would only endear her more to Adrian while she on the other hand would lose out to the both of them.
