"That's too brutal! I thought I was already fierce enough, having taken down a fighting corpse in the blink of an eye and even extinguishing its soul. But when I turned around, I realized that Chi Qingshuai and Jietou were actually more ferocious than me.
Chi Qingshuai dealt with two armored corpses, which outnumbered mine, but his methods were even more ruthless than mine. With a sword aura sweeping past them, the heads of both corpses flew into the sky together. Then he pinched his hand seal and recited a soul-destroying mantra before clapping his hands to disperse their souls.
Chi Qingshuai could move so swiftly thanks to the Mo Ye Sword's sharpness and profound Taoist cultivation. On the other hand, Jietou dealt with three leather corpses but managed to take them all out instantly by relying on destructive strikes. His Yào Rì Golden Wheel carried Yang Liè's soul-killing power while attacking; thus not only did it cut off those three leather corpses' waists but also directly killed their Yin spirits inside.
"Boring," after killing those zombies, Jietou retrieved his golden wheel while pouting as if he hadn't had enough fun.
"Just wait and see; there will be plenty of opportunities for you to have your fill later," I said as I looked around and found no other zombies coming over here. Then turning to Chi Qingshuai: "Master, crisis resolved; let's continue forward."
"Okay then, follow me." Nodding slightly while holding onto Mo Ye Sword and flashlight at once, Chi Qingshuai led us ahead.
We followed him closely until we walked some distance away - about fifty meters or so - when suddenly we saw a small clearing in the middle of mushroom hills where something seemed to be there.
"Hush--" Chi Qingshuai turned off the flashlight and signaled us to hide. Then he peered into that clearing, but couldn't help exclaiming: "Strange--"
"What's wrong?" I asked as I leaned over.
"I clearly saw a figure just now, but it disappeared when we came closer. Could it be my eyes playing tricks on me?" Chi Qingshuai frowned.
"No, you're not mistaken; the opponent's Taoist cultivation is higher than yours and has already seen through your Heaven-covering Art. It has discovered us! Hurry up and split up to find it; we must eliminate this thing before it transmits our information back!"
Upon hearing Chi Qingshuai's words, I immediately realized the urgency of the situation. Without hesitation, my eyebrows furrowed and my Tianmen opened wide as my Qi extended out in all directions to search for the hidden figure.
Reminded by me, Chi Qingshuai and his men also reacted quickly and scattered to search among the mushroom forest.
"How fragrant it is--" Xie Yilin did not go far from me. She followed beside me and looked towards a small open space with her nose wrinkled as she spoke.
Her words reminded me that there was indeed a very intoxicating fragrance in the air. At first, I thought it was emitted by mushrooms but upon closer inspection, I found that it was coming from the empty space in front of us.
"I'll go down and take a look." As I spoke, I leaped down onto the open space below.
The area was dark due to being surrounded by tall mushrooms so I instinctively turned on my flashlight to shine around. Under its beam, my mind couldn't help but be shocked because until now, only then did I realize how tall these mushrooms were - their stems were as thick as electric poles! The scene seemed like something out of a fairy tale world which made me feel intoxicated and amazed at God's creation.
"Swoosh--" Just when I was lost in admiration for this beautiful mushroom forest scenery before me, a light sound came from deep within which instantly caught my attention. Then without thinking twice about it, I dashed off towards where the sound came from at lightning speed.
"YiHeng where are you going?" Seeing what happened above ground level Xie Yilin couldn't help but worryingly call out after me.
"You guys stay put here! Don't move!" Leaving behind those few words while increasing speed towards where Yun Qingyue had sensed something ahead of us.
Seeing this situation, I couldn't help but feel excited and more certain of my judgment. Then with a low roar, I activated the Ling Tai Secret Art to rapidly condense Qi onto my feet which instantly increased my speed to its limit. After a fierce pursuit, I quickly cornered a small and frail figure within the dense mushroom forest.
"Pu Cha Cha--"
The figure seemed to have nowhere to escape and began to move frantically up and down, making a flapping sound as if wings were beating.
"What kind of bird person is this?"
I was curious because from afar, I clearly saw a human figure, but when it got closer, I heard the sound of wings. It felt strange in my heart. Then I raised my flashlight towards the figure and took a closer look. I couldn't help but be stunned.
It wasn't a bird person, but rather...a woman. To be precise, she was a two or three-year-old baby girl with an infant-like body.
The little girl was only about two feet tall and completely naked with skin that had a pearl-like pinkish glow under the light.
Her body was very soft and delicate, unlike ordinary children. On the contrary, her body resembled that of an adult woman's in some ways; for example, although she was small in size, her chest was round and plump with red beans on top of her small buns. Her waistline was slender enough to fit into one's grip while both legs were long and straight with private parts faintly revealing a thin seam where at its end there rose slightly a pinkish mound that made people want to reach out their hands to touch it upon seeing it.
The little girl's body amazed me so much that I regarded her as an elf from fairy tales. However what surprised me even more next were her facial features.
Honestly speaking, they were truly stunning or perhaps most harmonious when matched with her body shape: Her face had some roundness; big eyes flickered through watery breaths; perky nose bridge; tiny crimson lips - all these made her appear like porcelain doll which evoked pity from others' hearts.
Of course these weren't even the most important things yet! What really astonished me at this moment was the pair of pure white and thin wings on her back. Those wings made her look like a flower fairy, and it seemed that she could fly with just a gentle flap.
"Oh my f*cking god, is this...is this the Insect Woman?"
After seeing clearly what the little girl looked like, I subconsciously thought of the story Sheryl had told me before.
Yes, this was definitely the Insect Woman without any doubt! Therefore, I couldn't be deceived by her appearance because in essence she was nothing more than a huge moth!
