Chapter 3 - Aftermath

Chapter Two

Back at base camp, the Colonel's heart was heavy with worry as six hours had passed with no word from Williams' squad. The Colonel hastened to the comms station, hoping to radio Williams, but all he received was a jarring static. At that moment, the Colonel mobilized a rescue squad, determined to find the Delta squad.

As the helicopter soared over the mountain pass, the pilot spotted a column of smoke rising in the distance. Circling to the site of the smoke, the pilot radioed to the ground units that they had found the Delta squad. But as they drew closer, the pilot struggled to describe the grisly scene that lay before them - the aftermath of a brutal battle that left Delta squad's members battered and bloodied.

Approaching the site, the soldiers were struck by the sickening sight of Miller's torso impaled on the wall, blood still fresh on the killer's hands. Henry's lifeless body lay on the ground, his head in a pool of blood. The midnight moon revealed Williams' charred and broken body, and at the foot of one of the soldiers, Walker lay gasping for air, his body battered and bloody.

The soldier shouted that they had found one alive, and a field medic rushed to stabilize Walker as the rest of the soldiers looked on in shock. The bodies of Warlord Lee Yu and his men lay nearby, a testament to the fierce battle that had been fought.

The soldiers radioed back to base camp, informing the Colonel that the warlord was dead, but they had lost three members of the Delta squad, one was MIA, and one was in critical condition. The Colonel ordered them to clean up the battle site and bring back their fallen comrades.

Back at base camp, Colonel Campbell faced the daunting task of calling the families of his fallen men. Meanwhile, Walker, in critical condition, was rushed to the military base in the city of Steadon, where he slipped into a comatose state. In his dreamlike state, Walker experienced an out-of-body experience, standing beside his loved ones at his bedside, trying to comfort them and assure them that he would be okay. But as he spoke to them, a figure clad in white and gold suddenly appeared on the other side of his bed, assuring him that he needn't worry.

Walker was shocked, ready to fight for his life once again, when suddenly, a sharp, excruciating pain ran through his eye, down his spine. Looking back at the bed, he saw his body convulsing as if possessed.

The mysterious figure once again reassured Walker not to worry before turning into a mist-like state and flowing into Walker's left eye. Suddenly, Walker snapped back into his body, emerging from his coma with a jolt of pain that left him writhing and screaming. His family and the medical team were stunned, trying to stabilize him as he struggled to rip his eye out in agony.

Back at base camp, Colonel Campbell was troubled by the news of Walker's condition and the strange events that had taken place. With his mind racing, the Colonel gathered his team to discuss what had happened and how they could get to the bottom of it. They knew that they had to find out what was causing this, and fast.

As they worked to uncover the truth, the Colonel and his team realized that they were dealing with something beyond their understanding - something that threatened to upend everything they knew. But they were determined to persevere, to push forward and find the answers they sought, no matter the cost.
