Charles raised his head and stood there watching his brother, trying to figure out if he was lying or simply speaking the truth for a split second. Neither of us thought that Hera would be irresponsible enough to provide him with any information concerning my history.
"He speaks the truth, Nessy. Hera has told him that leaves us exposed slightly should Xante decide to join forces with Hervidor," Charles said as he took my hand once more and pulled me close to his side.
"There is no way I shall be joining Hervidor, little brother, and I have come in peace to make sure you don't get slaughtered and, of course, to help in your current crusade."
"I shall decide what your motives are when this is over, but for now, I shall like it very much if you waited for me back at my house; I trust you know the way?"
"Of course, excuse me for intruding. Nessy, it has been a divine pleasure to know you," Xante said as he turned and silently, in a flash, left the room.
