In the midst of a sea of corpses, stood an elderly man with blood-soaked white hair and beard, his breath was heavy. His body was covered in cuts, and blood dripped from above his left eyebrow.
Clutched tightly in his hands was a single sword. The blade was black, emanating a mysterious dark energy and emitting particles of dark blue light.
Hundreds of men wearing black caps charged towards him, intent on attacking. Without hesitation, the man raised his sword with both hands, lifting it to a 260° angle, uttering incantations under his breath. With a powerful swing, he unleashed a beam from his sword that disintegrated any man caught within its path.
After witnessing this astonishing scene, Arjun quickly withdrew his hand from the large glass box, his forehead covered in sweat as confusion washed over him.
"What just happened? What was that?" he wondered.
The touch of the glass box seemed to amplify the power emanating from the sword, leaving Arjun with a heightened sense of its potency.
"Perhaps this sword is connected to a sword saint, or maybe it once belonged to a sword saint," Arjun speculated, unaware of the full extent of sword saints since the novel he had read did not delve into their details. The only mention of a sword saint was because of that third-rate villain.
The story began with this villain attempting to torment Ron, who had become involved with the person the villain loved. Driven by jealousy, the third son of a silver-class guild sought to harass Ron. However, his plans went awry, leading to his expulsion from the academy. Desperate, he joined forces with other villains, but that too ended in failure, resulting in his status as a wanted criminal. Seeking refuge, he stumbled upon the temple and unintentionally obtained the will of a sword saint.
With newfound confidence, he attempted to kill Ron without any training, but Ron ultimately defeated him. Despite Ron's initial attempts to reason with him, the villain's madness consumed him, leading to his demise. This marked the end of the story involving the sword saint, with no further details revealed in the novel.
However, now that Arjun possessed the sword, the story took a different turn, and he resolved to uncover the truth behind the sword's origins. He felt an unexpected connection with the sword saint, someone who had accomplished many deeds but was now forgotten by the masses.
Meanwhile, the professor was conducting a check to ensure everyone had chosen their weapons. He noticed one cadet still standing in place, fixated on the rusty sword. Curious, the professor approached him and inquired about his actions.
"Hey, what are you doing? Why haven't you chosen your weapon? Hurry up!" the professor asked impatiently.
Without turning to face the professor, Arjun responded, "I will choose this sword."
The professor was taken aback by his response. It puzzled him why someone would select a rusty weapon for use.
"Are you sure?" the professor asked, seeking confirmation.
"Yes, I am sure," Arjun replied confidently.
Though the professor remained unconvinced, he unlocked the glass box containing the sword and handed Arjun the rusted blade. Additionally, he provided Arjun with a bracelet, instructing him, "Today, you don't have any classes. However, starting tomorrow, all your classes will be scheduled. This bracelet will allow you to purchase meals from the canteen and communicate with your classmates. You can now head to your room in the men's dormitory."
"Okay, professor," Arjun acknowledged.
The professor continued, "Your room details are stored in this badge. Simply log in with your ID."
"Okay, sir," Arjun replied.
"This is very convenient. My old world didn't have anything like this," Arjun thought to himself.
"Also, be sure not to lose this badge. Obtaining a replacement will take time, and you will be penalized," the professor warned.
"Okay, professor," Arjun affirmed, absorbing all the instructions. He then proceeded to take a stroll around the academy, observing people engaged in conversations, attending classes, and planning to go out for lunch.
Suddenly, Arjun's stomach growled, reminding him of his hunger. He hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.
"Grumble, grumble," his stomach protested.
"I'm little hungry. I should go to the canteen," Arjun decided, placing his hand on his hungry belly. He entered the canteen and noticed numerous students occupying chairs, while others lined up at the counter to collect their food. Arjun joined the queue, ordered his meal, and scanned the room for a vacant seat.
After finding a chair, he settled down to eat, taking the opportunity to familiarize himself with his roommates. Being the son of an ordinary person, Arjun had to share his room with someone else.
Some time later, he located his assigned room and used his bracelet to unlock the door. Only Arjun and his roommate, excluding the teachers, had access to open it. Arjun stepped inside and noticed a young boy with light green hair, resembling a leaf, standing in the room. The boy's calm demeanor and brown eyes resembled tree branches. But lacking long ears, indicating he was more human than elf, but he seemed to possess some elf blood.
Realizing they would be roommates for the year, the green-haired boy introduced himself first. "Hi! It looks like you'll be my roommate for the year. Let me introduce myself. My name is Free, and I come from Fars City."
"Fars City? Ah, he's from the elf city. I was right; he does have some elf blood in him," Arjun thought to himself.
After Free's introduction, it was Arjun's turn to introduce himself. "Hello, myself is Arjun," he said, taking his first step towards making new friends.
