It was a new year in Reyak Academy and there were already some interesting first year students. From the high ranking families to the civilian students, there are one or more unique students. The academy teaches the concept of magic, Activation of magic and Use of magic.
Akira hoshikage, the eldest daughter of Kappa and Jocelyn, the highest scoring student in the entrance exams, was expected to give a speech at orientation in order to motivate the other students.
Akira is a fourteen years old with fiery red waist length hair that was packed up into a neat ponytail. She shared the same fare and smoot skin as her twin sister, Akemi who had a lighter red, almost pink hair.
They both had small oval faces, red eyes, long lashes and pink lips.
Although they looked similar physically, the two girls couldn't be more different from each other in terms of personality.
Akemi shared their mom's calm and collected personality. She was the more reasonable one of the two and the one to stop Akira from getting into fights. Although she was the younger twin, she was always looking out for her sister.
Akira on the other hand wasn't as reserved. She had a more outgoing and fierce personality. She seemed to take after their father more and like him was adventurous. This however wasn't always good as her temper always got her in trouble.
The two girls, as different as they were, were each other closest friend and confidant.
After orientation, all the first years were asked to go to the dining hall to be properly introduced to the school. Akira met up with her twin sister Akemi and they both went to the dining hall where there was what seemed to be endless numbers of chairs grouped by the classes and year. They were all asked to seat in the order of their respective classes.
Miss Scarlet, The principal of the Academy walked to the Administrative seats. She looked down at the hall of students, a pleasant smile graced her lips. Her name to an extent was gotten from the scarlet red hair and fierce personality.
She tapped her glass with a spoon. The hall went silent and she smiled down at the students.
"Welcome to Reyak Academy, a prestigious school that will teach you the proper use of and improve your magic abilities. As we all know a place without rules leads to chaos. The academy has only three rules you'll have to follow strictly" Miss Scarlet's expression turned serious as she began listing the rules.
"Firstly, no fighting or using magic against other students in this academy, except in the case of a duel. Duel applications must be formally submitted in order to participate in a duel and it must be signed by both parties. Any form of dispute between students can be solved with a duel and participating in unapproved fights will lead to punishments.
Next, Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated. If any student is caught, he or she will be severely punished and or expelled regardless of their social ranking"
"Lastly, any students who uses forbidden spells and magic will be immediatly expelled and arrested"
The next few hours was used to assign the first year students to different classes. The first year students were all placed in class one A to F depending on their entrance scores.
Akari and Akemi were both placed in Class 1A.
Miss Scarlet told that the students that the reason for the difference in classes was so that students learn in the same pace with their classmates. According to her, everyone should be treated equally in the academy regardless of their family background.
The students were asked to enjoy their meals and were then escorted to their various classes. The two sisters were easily accepted by everyone especially because of their abilities. They sat at the first row side by side when it was time for homeroom. They met with their teacher Mr Felix Dauntless, a well known magic instructor. He welcomed them and told them that the only rule is to not be unnecessarily interrupted when teaching.
He began his lesson with the activation of magic ~ the process of checking ones affinity to magic, magic type and activating it ~ explaining the process involved and the errors that might occur in the case of incomplete activation.
After the bell rung, his class ended and he gave them a word of advice; he said that because a magic Activation process is unsuccessful or incomplete, doesn't mean a person can't use magic effectively.
What he said raised a little confusion among the students. All their life the learnt that unsuccessful activation of magic will not allow one to use magic. While half the class had a mental breakdown trying to comprehend what Mr Felix said, another teacher by the name of Miss Karin walked in and told them that it was time for another lesson.
After three more classes, the day was over and it was time for everyone to go home or to their various dorms. Most of the students walked home in small groups, some alone and others in personal cars.
Mary, the girl who sits behind the two sisters walked up to them
"Is someone coming to pick you guys up?" she asked
"Yeah" Akira replied "We're going to get our older brother before the driver gets here"
Akemi and Akari waved at Mary and walked away to their brother's class. The students of class 3C were shocked to see the two most talented first year students in their class. The girls in their class quickly gathered around them.
"Akemi, what are you guys doing here? Are you looking for someone?" one of the girls asked excitedly
Akemi smiled sweetly at her "We came to get our elder brother"
Everyone was shocked because the sisters big brother was in their class and they had no idea. Akari walked past the girls to the back seat to wake up a sleeping boy.
The body opened his eyes and sits up. He looked up at her with a questioning look
"Big brother, it's time to go home" Akari said.
The boy nodded and gathered his things into a bag. He got up, his figure towering over Akari's small fame.
Everyone couldn't believe it. They looked at the boy in shock, whispering among themselves as they wondered it was really possible the tree were related.
Yuri, the class representative stood up and approached Akari and the boy "It is impossible for a weakling like this to be related to you" she said, her eye taking in the ta;ll figure of the boy. A look of contempt crossed her expression.
The classroom slowly began to raise in temperature, raising higher and higher until everyone began to sweat.
The boy walked out of his sear and patted Akari on her head before he walked past her and out of the class. The temperature of the class quickly returned to normal and Akari looked at Yuri with a stern look. She stormed out of the class with Akemi rushing after her.
The doubt in the student heart was cleared as it was obvious the twins and the strange boy were related in some way. As they recalled, his last name was Hoshikage which meant that he was related to them.
Akari quickly caught up with Jon in the empty hallway and grabbed in by his hand, stopping him from walking away.
"Why didn't you do anything back there? She was obviously looking down on you!" she said, her frustration evident in her voice.
Jon expressionless face barely changed as he released his hand and continued walking down the hall in silence.
Akemi walked up to Akari. She watched Jon's figure get further and further away.
"Akari, you don't have to worry too much. He probably has his reason for being the way he is" she said "and beside they can't hurt him anyway"
"you're right" Akari agreed with a sigh "I just wish he would do something about it sometime"
The rest of the journey home was in silence, each lost in their heads.
