It was the year 2100, and for the past 20 years vr gaming has allowed the planet to enter a new era. This all started when 20 years ago, the most popular vr game "Legacy of the Gods" was released.
At first, the game wasn't doing too well on the market due to the low amount of people who owned vr headsets. However, after a rising streamer on MeTube showed the world just how beautiful the virtual world of LOTG was, the game got traction.
Multiple people over the world saw the beautiful scenery that would cost them millions just to see in the real world, and decided it was better to just buy a vr headset and enjoy LOTG. The player base began to grow to be in the millions.
Initially, people only played LOTG for the scenery but soon enough the world building and charm of the NPCs made them stay. In a span of two months, LOTG took the world by storm and the maximum capacity of players was reached at one billion. One had to know that one billion people was at least 10% of the world population!
If not for this unforeseen obstacle, LOTG would have remained the best vr game for possibly even the next century.
However, now it was time to make way for the new vr game of the century, "Alfheim Online"!
