Shadow glared at Lisa and Rio, who were looking at him with apologetic expressions, and said through gritted teeth, "If it's possible, I'll do my best to save you all, not just Kean or Alice. But now… I don't know if even I will be able to live past tonight."
Taking a deep breath, he shook his head, glanced at Alice and said, "None of us are in a condition to run let alone fight. So… I'll go out and try to distract them. After a few moments I'm gone, you guys take the opportunity and escape."
Saying this, he jumped out of the bushes, but just as he was about to run off, Alice called out, "Wait!"
"What is it?" Shadow asked in an annoyed tone.
Alice looked him in the eyes and slowly said, "Don't die."
'Huh?' Shadow couldn't help but be surprised upon hearing her as he hadn't expected someone cold like her to say something nice like this. He then grinned, and then ran off, "Of course, I won't."
