Bradley opens the brown box and it's wrapped perfectly with a red ribbon on it. He scrapes his head and walking toward Caden tries to wake up him and asks about this.
"Hey, Caden wakes up." Bradley gently pats Caden's cheek. " I think this box is for you." Bradleyb gave the box to Caden.
"Huh? What's wrong Brad?" Caden slowly opens his eyes and sees Bradley's blue eyes. "Wait, I don't order anything at all."
Bradley furrowed his eyebrows when he heard Caden's words. "Wait if this box not your you?" Bradley furrowed his eyebrow. "So, who owns this item?"
Caden shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know either, but I feel like we should take a look inside it."
Caden slowly opens the box and sees two bright blue shirts folded neatly inside. His eyes lit up and smile widely because he loves blue color which makes him bounce up and down.
He quickly takes one of the clothes. "Brad look, this shirt is very nice!" He squealed happily. "I wonder who gives this?"
"Cad, I don't know either," said Bradley, shrugging his shoulders. "Wait a minute, looks like there's some card tucks in here." Bradley took the small white card and starts to read it.
"Oh my, this can't be." Bradley eyes widened for moment and small scream out from his mouth. "Is this real?"
"Brad, what's wrong?" Caden asks him curiously. "Who is it?"
Bradley's hands are shaking. "This is a gift from Madam Theresa to us."
"What!"
Caden doesn't believe Bradley's words, so he decides to looks at the card by himself and few minutes later his hands start shaking. Madam Theresa's name is written on the card, complete with her signature and the words "Today, wear this shirt."
"No way! But how it can be?" Caden's eyes widened and instantly sees that.
But Caden ignores it and continues holding the shirt and dancing around with a big smile on his lips.
"Oh my God, Cad." Bradley could only shake his head and smile at Caden's funny behavior. "Come on, we must hurry up."
The two of them walk down to the manners room next to the living room. The manner class actually just a small room with a few wooden chairs and a large white chalkboard in it. It used to be a room where old things were stored, but Mr. Eugene's wife had the idea to make the room a classroom where the orphanage children could be polite when meeting other people.
She wanted the orphans to be friendly to everyone when they meet. Mr. Eugene's wife is a language teacher who highly values good manners. She gave all the knowledge about manners that she knew, starting from greeting people, behaving politely, and being sensitive to the environment around them.
"Okay. Cad, are you ready?" Bradley looked at Caden who looked very excited.
"Yes, sir." His voice was hoarse but the smile on his lips looked so blooming.
They slowly open the door and there is something unexpected which make their faces stiffen instantly as they see a strange man seen carrying a small note in his hand is talking to Madam Theresa.
"Wait a second, Madam Theresa doesn't tell us about this?" Caden's body and hands began to tremble and cold sweat dripped down the curves of his face. " Damn it! I can't think straight at all."
"Kids come here, someone wants to see you. "Madam Theresa who saw them immediately called Bradley and Caden.
They both walk up to Mrs. Theresa and then the man introduces himself who turns out to be a reporter of the daily newspaper in this town.
"Okay, so today he will be with us during class and keep an eye on you." Madam Theresa smiled and patted the shoulder of Caden who was beside her. "I hope you don't do anything wrong, dear," she whispered in Caden's ear and walked away.
Caden nods and can only swallow the saliva in his throat. The man then sits in the corner of the room and takes out a small note from his pocket.
After that, some children start to enter the room and the two of them directly lead all of them to their seats and the class begins.
Twenty minutes have passed and everything seems normal as usual, but suddenly one of the yellow-haired girl asks a question that makes them both speechless.
"Sir, both of you are old enough, why don't you try to find a job and get out of here?"
"It's because we haven't found a decent job yet. "Bradley answered the boy's words calmly and quietly.
"But that's no reason to be lazy, is it?" the girl said innocently.
The girl's words brings an instant silence and Bradley and Caden tries to remain calm in response. However, the little girl doesn't stop and continues asking questions which seems to corner them and assume they are just lazy until Caden's smile slowly disappeared.
"Hey kid, what do you mean by asking the questions?" Bradley raised his voice. "Your questions have nothing to do with this and it's very rude!" Bradley widened his eyes until the gir was scared and crying.
The classroom goes into chaos instantly. All the children scatter out of the classroom and the man in the corner of the room only shake his head and walk out of the room with a sour face.
"Gosh, why everything become like this!" Caden's eyes slowly turned red and couldn't stand this situation and left the classroom.
"Cad!"
Bradley sees his best friend walk out of the room and immediately chasing after him, but he doesn't find Caden at all.
"He's probably in his room." Bradley snapped his fingers. "I should go there."
Bradley decides check to Caden's room and as he passed Caden's door, he can hear someone sobbing from inside the room. Bradley knocks on the door and tries to call Caden out of his room.
"Cad, come on, don't be sad," Bradley said as he continued to knock on the door. "Brad, everything's a mess," he said as he sobbed.
"Cad, let me in and we can talk about this together." Bradley knocked repeatedly on Cad's bedroom door.
But there is no answer from Caden and Bradley sighs and walks away from Caden's room.
"Ah, I feel sad to see him like this." Bradley walked back to his room and he tried to forget everything that had happened, but the embarrassing moment was still ringing in his head.
Soon, he hears a conversation between two people from outside his room and the sounds are very similar to someone he knows, so he finds the source of the sound which turns out to be coming from downstairs.
"Wait? Is that Madam Theresa?" He frowned his eyebrows. "Why is Madam Theresa talking with that yellow haired girl?"
However, their voice is not clear enough, so he tries to find a closer position, which is beside the stairs, but he accidently steps on something and emits a loud noise.
"Argh! Dammit!" His heart racing and he quickly hid in the crack of the staircase.
Madame Theresa, realizing that someone has heard her conversation, immediately stops talking and tells the girl to leave.
"I know there's someone here," she said as she walked closer to his hiding place. "Come on now, or I'll find you."
