...

A luminous radiance, akin to a sky adorned with countless stars, bathes a residence that mirrors the grandeur of a royal palace.

In a gathering where three groups of children gathered, a beautiful lady stood out. Her beauty was magnificent and her unique appearance radiated her nobility.

Her smile had the power to steal the breath of countless men, and the twinkle in her eyes could make a man fall in love with their beauty. Everything about her seemed like a blessing. She was positioned in the middle of the children beneath an open shelter.

"Today, I'll continue from where I left off, but as usual, I'll ask you the meaning of a proverb," she said, looking into each child's eyes, one by one, with a smile that caught their attention.

"Yes, we're listening, teacher," they all replied in unison. She continued, "The proverb goes like this: 'He who is running should stop looking back, because if he continues, he'll fall or arrive late to his destination. Now, tell me the meaning."

One of the children raised their hand and said, "It means when we're running, we should focus on what's ahead and not look backwards." She smiled and responded, "You're on the right path." Another child from a different group raised their hand and said, "It teaches us that looking backwards can lead to disaster."

"You're also on the right path. Life is full of pain, and everyone has a past—whether it's filled with pain or happiness. But no matter what your past may be, don't dwell on it. We're all running in this world to chase our dreams. If you want your dreams to come true, don't dwell on your past. Focus on your future, because that's the easiest shortcut to success," she explained.

"Does a proverb have just one meaning?" a young and beautiful girl asked.

"No, it can have many meanings, because proverbs are words of wisdom and experience," she replied, and they all nodded in understanding.

"I'll now continue with our history, but before that, I have a question." She aimed to evaluate what they had learned. "Who is Akijon, the Beast's Tribe?" she asked, but the young beautiful girl raised her hand.

"They are people from the spirit realm. Their forefather came to this world with a promise to teach humans magic and to keep his secret, as he was banished from the spirit realm. The reason for his banishment remains unknown," the girl answered.

"Correct. I'll pick up from our previous lesson. After our king was assassinated by this strange tribe, they seized our land. We became their slaves for many years. They married our women to produce offspring and enslaved our men. They consumed our flesh and hearts to preserve their immortal souls for thousands of years. Then, a human prince emerged. He fought for justice and on our behalf, but they defeated us and imprisoned him," a child interjected.

"Hello, my name is Akínlàdé, the son of the general and warlord. I'm new here. My question is, during that period, were there no gods or goddesses that we humans could have turned to for help?" Akínlàdé asked before taking his seat.

"Greetings to the young lord. Yes, there were gods and goddesses, but they eliminated all the priests and divine consultants," she replied and continued.

"He was imprisoned for many years. Then, the goddess of war appeared to him, granting him spiritual powers and a conquering sword. He fought and drove the enemy away with his army, killing many of them. The battlefield was drenched in blood, and the heavens welcomed numerous souls. The earth trembled with the weight of the carnage. But on their way to the battlefield... something unexpected occurred."

"Greetings to the young lord. Yes, there were gods and goddesses, but they eradicated all the priests and divine consultants," she replied before continuing, "He was imprisoned for many years. Then, the goddess of war appeared to him. She manipulated and granted him spiritual powers and a conquering sword. He fought, chased them away with his army, and killed many of them. But on their way to the battlefield, something strange happened. I'll continue the story next time," she said, disappointing her pupils.

"Please tell us more!!!" they pleaded.

"We've already spoken quite a bit. I'll save the rest for next time. Listen, children! It's late, and you should go home to help your parents. Always obey your parents, be submissive when they're speaking, and avoid looking straight into their eyes. Don't walk away when they're talking; be obedient children. See you all tomorrow night," she concluded. As the children left, they bid her farewell and she stood up to head inside.

"Arẹwa!" she heard a silent whisper of her name, causing her fear to spike in the late night.

All the children had left, led by the elders among them. She was now alone, except for the guards patrolling the residence. "Arẹwa!!!" came another whisper. Fearful, she considered running inside.

Suddenly, a hand gently wrapped around her waist.
