Chapter 4 - Admission test (2)

After a long conversation with Mr. Lothbrok, I walked back to my room trying to manage all my thoughts and feelings. I knew that the next day's test was important, so I concentrated on my preparation, even with all the questions I had left out. I lay down on my bed, concentrated on my focus, and faced the next day with determination.

I sat up in bed as I heard the "beep, beep, beep" of my alarm clock. I opened my eyes and saw that it was 6:00 am. I got out of bed and got ready to start my day. I knew that I would have no advantage in falling asleep any further, so I accepted the reality and started by completing my daily needs.

After brushing my teeth and freshening up in a hot shower, I had my coffee prepared by the maid and left the room. It was a smart way to start my day, which made me feel prepared and motivated to face the challenges ahead.

I am in the Lothbroks' building, which is the definitive home of this incomparable and dynamic family. Here we find all the amenities we need for our daily lives, from space for outdoor activities to cozy living rooms. The furnishings are well chosen to offer them days of leisure and tranquility, where the minimum requirements for a comfortable and quality dwelling are met.

But my focus is on finding the training room, for there, will be where I will test my powers.

The current time is 6:30 in the morning, and the admission test starts at noon, so I have 5 hours and 30 minutes to test all my powers and get used to this new body.

With this in mind, I went down to the reception desk and got the information about where the training center was. Although the receptionist thought it strange that I didn't know this information, she told me anyway and I made my way there.

Upon entering, I had to clap my hands at how beautiful it was. From the moment I came to this world, what strikes me most is the beauty of this world. The city at night builds a cyberpunk atmosphere, and this training center looks like a world within the metaverse.

Robots were fighting each other in an epic battle! It felt like I was watching a Fucking anime! Acrobatics, powers, and fast moves, all in one fight, it couldn't be bad!

But I was undecided whether to go for it or not, after all, nobody likes to get beaten, even more so by a machine. Imagine losing to a bot! It's humiliating, isn't it?

"Sigh, I can't believe I'm going to do that." I sighed tiredly and started walking to a bot that seemed to be waiting for an opponent. I stopped in front of it and entered a random fighting pose.

I think it is good to give an important detail: I have never fought in my life, so...

Before I could complete my thought, the robot moved quickly and your punch landed right on my chin.

I didn't feel anything, I didn't see anything, all I see now is my vision dimming... Have I been knocked out by a machine?

In a shadowy space, I looked around and began to see flashes of memories forgotten over the years. The memories were not clear, but they still gave a glimpse of my passage through this world. They were small fragments of a life lived and loved, but gone in the blink of an eye. It was a moment to reflect on what has passed and at the same time, a moment of renewal to know that there is always a reason to move on with the new joys that life can offer us.

Or so I thought.

Suddenly, I opened my eyes and looked up at the ceiling of the training room. My chin was hurting and the robot that had educated me was fighting like crazy against another robot.

"Pfffff, did you finally wake, Snow White?" A white-haired woman with a few blue wisps, spoke to me while fighting a robot.

My first impression of that woman was a shock! After all, she was fighting that robot as an equal.

Suddenly she dodged a blow and counter-attacked the robot's skull, and destroyed it.

The robot fell to the ground dead, and I started clapping my hands in amazement. I quickly asked her, "What is your name?"

"What, how do you forget your aunt's name?!" The woman, who was my aunt, ended up getting extremely angry at my question, advanced against me, and punched me right in the face.

I couldn't even see her move, in an instant she was already in front of me and her fist was hitting my face.

The force of the blow was so absurd that it threw me against the wall of the training room. I hit my head on the wall and fell bewildered to the floor.

The question is? Why do people in this family always solve things with violence? First, it was the secretary, and now this crazy bitch. What is going on here? The world has evolved but good manners have not?

While I was pondering over futile matters, suddenly my aunt appeared in front of me and grabbed my head with her hand, mercilessly and inconsiderately! shoved my face brutally into the ground.

Have you ever heard the sound of something falling from a very high place? Then know that the sound of my head hitting the ground was 10x louder than anything else.

Boom! The sound was compared to an explosion and I again was knocked out...

Again I had flashbacks, but this time I was immersed in them, reliving every moment from memory. Every little detail was deflating my state of shock and intimidating me with the size of that experience; the feelings of sadness, joy, uncertainty, and fear were all rocking inside me. Happening again, but this time with more depth, made me understand that they were true, real.

Edward Lothbrok had always been a victim of family violence. The fear that this mistreatment aroused in him provoked the abrupt reaction of the others, who failed to realize that Edward's fragility was only fed by the violence he suffered. His posture was irritating because the contrast between the strength that was demanded of him and the fragile reality of the one who belonged to House Lothbrok was strong.

His weakness made him the target of much criticism and mockery. His weakening emotions made it difficult for him to accept the intentions of others. This, no doubt, ended up being his downfall, and because of his mental confusion, in desperation, he decided to take his own life. His last action was an attempt to achieve the peace and tranquility, of one who could see no way out of his situation.

It is a shame to see something bad happen to someone, but I got the experience I needed thanks to the flashbacks the story provided. Although painful to relive, this method of remembering the past often provides great learnings that contribute to better realizing the future.

Author's note:

Edward eventually acquired all of Edward lothbrok's experiences, thanks to the flashbacks.

Combat experience, all the information, behavior... And especially the people who hated him.

The classifications of this world will be explained in the next chapter.
