Synopsis

Chapter 1 - 1) Growth complete

When I transmigrated I was very scared. Every story I read with transmigration put the main character threw constant danger.

Though my fear turned out to be very unnecessary. I transmigrated as an average commoner in a fantasy world.

I entered the body of a 15 year orphan that died of starvation in the slums. My looks to my intelligence are just plain average.

No silly golden finger. No talent in weapons or magic. No great quest. Just a really ordinary person.

I managed to get a job cleaning. In this antique shop I stand in now. In the most complicated way.

All I did was help an old lady carry her bags home. Then I helped her do random things around the house. I didn't even expect to get paid. I she just really needed help and I helped her.

When her daughter came home she nearly killed me thinking I was a thief or something. Seriously inches from being hit with a deadly fireball.

As compensation when she figured out the truth she gave me a job at her store. While paying me to take care of her mother on my days off when she still worked.

Then she started making excuses. It cannonballed from there. Basically she forced me to let her take care of me.

Now I've lived in this world for 10 years. A drama free, simple life.

The most exceptional thing is I'm a commoner who can read, and I learned the most basic street magic. Well also have an absurd amount of historical knowledge. Though that's more of an occupational hazard.

"Hey Chi Chi. Just take out the garbage and head on home. I'll close up on my own." The store owner's voice rang out threw the crowded store full of crap to priceless knick nacks.

The woman who as I see as my motherly figure in this world. Who calls me Chi Chi. A stupid name I can't shake. I surrendered to my fate as Chi Chi many years ago.

"Okay! See you!" I called out to her. I mean is is a cute stupid name so I don't mind. At least it could be worse.

"Remember to come by on you birthday!" She yelled back. I head out the back as I grabbed the trash and my stuff. Than wandered to the dumpster.

I took my time looking at the sky and enjoying the cool breeze. It's just about spring. Starting to feel like it. I guess it is about midnight.

My last life ended an hour before midnight, as I was leaving my boring job. I think a car hit me.

I'm not sure cause one moment I'm going to my car after work. The next I'm waking up on the streets into this new life. I'm going to ignore the fact that I was turning 25, like I am today.

I'm pretty happy. Even if a carriage kills me right now. I don't live a life of regrets.

My first life for sure. I regret not killing a lot of people. Ah the unfortunate pacifist life. Gosh I was such a dumbass. Sometimes it pays to kick a couple teeth in.

I tossed the trash and walked to my tiny, cozy rented room. With loud inconsiderate neighbors and ugly fat landlord.

Of course my pet as well. Blobbles. They are essentially an indestructible blob with legs. The number of legs actually can change over time. For no discernible reason.

In this world they are as popular as cats and dogs.

My dear pet greeted me as I enter the door, jumping into my arms. Making it's odd cooing noises.

They only need to be fed a small meal once a week. Sometimes less. They like walks but don't need them. On the care scale, they need love but not much else.

Oh and of course training.

They are usually small when docile. Though they can get pretty big when violent. Mine can get as big as a truck and is normally the size of a cat.

A real runt to be honest, but super stupid cute.

"Hey buddy. I missed you too." I chuckled closing the door and petting them.

They vibrated. Similar to a purr. Leaning against me, and making my movements difficult.

My apartment is very small. I can afford bigger, just don't see the point.

I don't have many things. A couple bookshelves, a dresser with descent clothes. Small but well stocked kitchen in a corner. A bathroom that only fits a shower, sink, small cupboard, and a toilet.

Small, simple, and efficient.

'Growth complete.'

I gentle, genderless, robot voice sounded in my ears. Followed by a blue holographic rectangular screen popping up in front of me. Displaying the words.

Oh did I just go crazy.

'Visitor from another world, you have successfully survived and grown without your secret being discovered. You will now be rewarded.'

I am good. You can give it to someone else. I don't need anything I promise. No regrets.

'Binding Sign-in Quest system to the visitor from another world.'

"It's not even asking for my opinion. Wow. I don't want it, don't need it." I said trying to find any button on the screen to stop it.

'Visitor from another world will become a permanent resident.'

Wait what. What does that mean. Am I crazy or is this actually happening.

'Proceeding.'

As the the robotic voice finished speaking, the world around me blurred and swirled. Than it all went dark.
