The morning ceremony continued as normal. They pledge their allegiance, recite their oath and wait for the teacher to say ''You may pass.'' The cue for them to leave the flag ceremony area however, in this case, is a bit different.
Students across the area had waited patiently for the cue yet it did not come. Unexpectedly, the teacher- Mr. Robert- had cleared his throat on the mic.
'' May I call the two students to stand in front and do their public apology speech for their behavior.'' His voice echoing on all parts of the space.
Murmurs excitedly exploded. The rumors of their top students breaking the school rules had passed all over their school forum. It was not a rumor anymore. A confirmation that a fight broke out between the two.
Gabriel, the class monitor of the now dissolved star section, taps his classmate in front of him. He does not know the classmate before him. His uniform is tailored differently from him. That is to say, this classmate of his is not from their school but to the other school.
His acceptance of the change has been always swiftly. Adapting to the flow and coveting for someone to talk to him, he shamelessly began to speak.
''Classmate, I thought there were four students who had gotten in trouble from the brawl. But, why are there only Lucas Allard and Adrian Ventura present? How about the other two?''
His classmate blinks his eyes towards him. Gabriel waits patiently for the response, from his left, squeals from the girls can be heard.
''Where did you heard that there were four students instead of just two?''
Gabriel was taken aback. He does not expect the question. How did he know? As a matter of course, from the connections he had gathered.
''You're not in the separate group chat without Owen, Kristoff, Adrian and Lucas? Sorry about that. We were informed by one of the admin. What's your name? Perhaps I could add you later. How about it?''
This classmate looks at him head on, an icy gleam reflecting in his orbs.
''Kristoff.''
Gabriel's flattering smile cracked. He hasn't said any response yet he began to choke from the situation. This unexpected encounter shook his core. With trembling pupils, he took a step backward.
''Classmate Kristoff.'' He calls out weakly.
He could feel the strength in his body leaving him. Gabriel does not know what to say. Damn, he should have asked for a picture for him to know what Kristoff had looked like to steer away from this embarrassing and terrifying situation. Alas, it was too late.
Kristoff snickers. Is he that scary? Perhaps, he had stayed too long with Adrian that he had adapted some of his habits. The aura he emits.
He stares for too long at his now classmate. The hand by his side trembles from his staring. He amusedly looks away in favor of letting him calm down. He doesn't have to see someone getting a heart attack because of him. Although, there were already various instances wherein he is the cause of somebody's heart attack.
Gabriel breathes in relief. He does not know why Kristoff didn't give him any answer; however, that was already quite good. He has not received any beating from him. His friend from the other school had warned him not to get close to them since they are surrounded by bad rumors.
He cannot fathom how this was spread but it has never been wrong to be careful.
Kristoff had a plan brewing in his mind to scare his classmate yet before he could make it into action, the sentences echoing across the field made him pause.
''Hello schoolmates. You have not known me. Let me first introduce myself. I am Lucas Allard. I am still standing on my ground that we have not made any mistake. We were just having fun like how normal high school boys interact.''
Lucas was the first one to speak into the mic. He had volunteered himself so that this could be finished faster. It should have been a public speech apology yet he thinks differently. There is still an apology present in his speech albeit he had twisted and did not follow his teacher's arrangement at all.
Adrian squints his eyes.
''I do apologize that our actions had made some uncomfortable. This is a mistake on our part. We did not condone that our actions were right. The school had made it clear that fighting is not allowed in the school however, we haven't fought at all, we were just glad that we met our long time friends before and became classmates at that. Because of the excitement, we bumped with each other. Harshly.'' In these words, Lucas began to spout some nonsense.
Owen chuckles. The logic is not connected at all. Lucas might come off serious and cold. A study tyrant at that but there are times when his mischievous side is leaking. Like in this instance, Owen recognizes Lucas is not serious.
''We will be careful onwards since the school reputation will be hit if we continue in this manner. Remember students, this school is the school that loves and nurtures the human spirit!'' Lucas passionately exclaims, earning a crowd of students clapping their hands together in agreement.
Lucas finishes off with the school's motto to compensate for the twisted logic he had spout. He isn't afraid that Adrian would refute his words. It will just solidify the distance they have especially, the two school is involve into this matter. From afar, he could see Mr. Robert shakes his head, devoid of any emotions on his face. Mr. Evans on the other hand, was fuming in anger. A migraine creeping from his back.
He had specifically said to do a speech but not like this! This is not what he had stated. He thought Lucas would not divert from what he had known from his co-teachers. He was proven wrong. This rascal was really the same species as his other student, Adrian.
Mr. Evans lifted his head up to look at the clouds. Resignation in his eyes. Should he expect at the end of the school year, he might go bald by the stress his students would bring?
Mr. Robert glances at his peripheral vision. Seeing his assistant teacher looking so stressed, he internally chuckles in amusement.
