Unexpectedly, Mr. Evans thought of such punishment. Lucas has no problems with it. It's just…
Owen's face says otherwise. The look on his face. Lucas had seen this before when they got into a situation with their families. Situation in a sense, trouble they have been roped in. Speaking of this, the time when they were having a banquet.
A celebration for his brother returning. The details were fuzzy in his mind but the emotions and what he had seen on Owen was what he remembered well. They have not spoken about it after.
The memory falling into the sea of forgotten memories. Only today, he had the time to fish out the piece from the endless water.
Lucas waits.
Mr. Evans, after saying his piece, satisfaction evident on his face. Owen and Kristoff, fear the ideas of this old man. Adrian and Lucas indifferently accept it.
''Sir, how about-'' Owen panics. He does not like this kind of punishment.
Mr. Evans holds up his other hand to halt Owen's next words. He shakes his head.
''Owen, I do not entertain any more suggestions. I stand on what I had said. You cannot change my mind. Then, I need to go for now, find me later this afternoon.'' Mr. Evans said his goodbyes.
He nods in farewell towards the school doctor who had watched from the beginning till the end. The school doctor nods in return to show he understood. Mr. Evans then strolled away from the clinic, content to see the terror on the other two's faces. Although the other two did not have any big reactions, Mr. Evans is pleased. After all, he does not expect that much from them.
Silence remains inside. The hum of the air conditioner does not have any harm to others but to Owen, it was the hum of his execution.
Owen groans. Hands cradling his face.
"Lucas, I do not have any more face to face other people." Owen complains, burying his face to hide.
Lucas snickers, crossing his arms.
"You already have no face at all." Owen ignores the underhand comment and sharply raises his head, turning to Kristoff.
He explodes.
"This is all your fault. If you did not slap me, this situation would not turn out like this." Owen accuses Kristoff. In the process, offending Kristoff which he regards for him to be annoying.
Kristoff, not letting him get the upper hand, bites back.
"What do you mean by me huh? Wasn't you who started it? Saying stuff that Adrian does not deserve to be at the top."
"I fucking did not say that at all. You twerp."
"Excuse you. My hearing is in perfect condition. You did not outright say it but you implied it."
"Then, you need to work on your comprehension. You got it all wrong."
Kristoff, having enough bullshit he hears from Owen, rolls up his sleeves in preparation for another round.
Adrian knowingly went up to Kristoff, pulling him away. Lucas did the same. Expressionlessly.
The two, desiring to tear up the other's face, making it more worse freezes by Lucas' next words, followed by Adrian.
"Sir. Please stop recording. They were just having a friendly fight."
Adrian echoes, " Indeed, they are. No need to have a record about it."
He then smiles.
Having been caught, the school doctor does not have any ounce of guilt or embarrassment. He raises an eyebrow.
"Really? Your friends say otherwise."
An idea struck Kristoff's mind. Fed up being oppressed by this Owen, he unwittingly hooks his arms around his neck for a neck hug or should be a headlock.
"You got it wrong, doctor. We were just about to hug. A token of our newly built friendship. " Kristoff says, tightening his arms around Owen.
Deprived of oxygen, Owen flails his arms around successfully removing the arm. Firstly, he thought of forgiving this bastard, after all being classmates, they would be interacting for the whole school year. Alas, Kristoff did not live up to his expectations. This lad has the audacity to even take the opportunity to choke him up. No, he cannot swallow this grievance.
A tap on his shoulder, he looks to see Lucas with amusement dancing in his orbs. Owen collapses. Still, he squeezes a smile through grit teeth.
''Yes, what he says is true.'' Owen pushes down the curses about to spill.
The school doctor skeptically sweeps his glance to the four. Not accepting the reason they gave him. He was lenient in the end.
''Since that is the case, no need to stay here longer. You still have classes to attend to.''
''Then, please delete it so that we can leave.'' Adrian spoke.
The school doctor deletes the video right in front of them.
''In the trash too, doctor.'' Lucas added further after.
The school doctor followed his instructions and deleted it too. Then with his hand, he waves them away as he pockets his phone.
The four left the clinic.
''You bastard. I will remember this.'' Owen fires out as soon as they leave the room.
Kristoff bends his eyes. ''You're not the only one.''
Owen sneers.
Adrian pinches the bridge of his nose. He walks behind Kristoff, not letting him get out his sight lest his friend brews more trouble any further.
''Seems like we have gotten trouble because of them.''
He looks at Lucas and snorts.
''Woah woah big guy. You're not speaking with me anymore? We had perfect tacit understanding a while ago.''
''Shut up.''
Lucas did not shut up. Intrigued by the personality change of Adrian. He thought he was the bright sunny guy according to the background information he had received which he speculated to be true. As what he had seen, it is likely to be false.
''You seem different. Shedding the pretense?'' Lucas questions, curious to hear what he has to say.
"Guess.'' Adrian cheekily replies back. His dimples showing.
His personality changes to 360 degrees. Did this guy suffer from multiple personality disorder? What the hell is he up to?
Lucas, drained from the incident, did not speak anymore. He follows behind Owen, now ignoring Adrian who is looking at him. He had just matched the energy Adrian gave him. Might be petty but this is what he is.
