Really, it is happening.
The news really was true. Rumors are not rumors anymore. Lucas stares at the people inside the campus. The gate was flowing with people buzzing in and out. Dressed with different uniforms because the school has not officially determined what will be their new official garment be. So much for having this hasty decision.
Lucas determines his schoolmates and those who are not. Aside from their uniforms setting them apart, their attitudes are also a factor. Those who wore red were crowded with their own kind, talking to themselves in a rowdy behavior, while his schoolmates who wore blue are calm. They talk quietly, observing the new additional students.
'They are docile today huh.'
Lucas concluded since his schoolmates were acting different from usual. He guess that it was because of the merging. Wariness is not unusual for them. Who will be so calm knowing a fact that someone will evade their zone? No one of course.
It might be this reason why it took a week for them to see them. Another thing is, Lucas is confuse. Why are his schoolmates waiting outside their campus?
His brows furrowed, confusion in his eyes. He sweeps his gaze through the crowd, trying to find his friend which is missing in action right now. Lucas licks his front teeth when he could not find Owen from the crowd.
Tightening his hold on one strap of his bag, he moves, steering away from the approaching movements of their rival school.
Lucas made his presence small as much as possible. He avoids someone who is laughing heartily and walks to the gate, nodding slightly towards the guard who let him in.
He did not know, his every movements were being watched by his schoolmates. Seeing their ice prince did not kick a fuss about this situation, just going off as usual, their anxiousness began to wear off. Right, why should they get nervous? Their ice prince did not care about anything else.
As expected of their ice prince! Not faze at all.
In cue, the crowd began to move. Only needed a little push from their 'leader'.
One by one, they went inside, leaving behind the red crowd. They disperse like bees.
Even though they all left, it was still buzzing seemingly waiting for someone.
The guard watches everything unfold, scratching his chin thoughtfully.
***
Lucas had decided.
He needs to go to the student council office regarding the mess with the additional set of students. He cannot even see them guiding. Not one presence to make everyting in order. A negligence of their duties.
Lucas does not care really. He really does not. However, rowdy is what he describes. He could not stand seeing something so unorganized.
But before he could step foot on their office. Various people with the student council uniform have already been running, their appearance disheveled. Lucas does not need to report anymore.
''They finally move." Lucas mumbles under his breath.
A gleam of approval in his orbs. They might be late but it's better than nothing. The student council should let their presence be known, not them just being in the corner. How would there be order if they just sit back and do anything?
Lucas chokes in his spit when an arm suddenly wrapped around his neck, scaring him in the process. The familiarity made him frown.
"You're like a ghost." Lucas snickers, trying to remove the arm yet to his dismay, he could not do so.
He taps the skin, hoping Owen receives his intention. Owen did not budge.
This stinky friend of his.
Lucas taps once more. Still, Owen did not get what he means. Lucas then resort to doing this to let Owen take off his arm on him.
With his hand, he pinches the delicate skin hearing a suck of breathe as a response. The complain almost spilling from his mouth but Lucas glares at Owen resulting for him to endure the pain.
Lucas pinching skills hurt a lot.
"You could just tell me so." Owen grumbles rubbing his now reddish skin.
''I already did so. The tap?''
''That does not count!" He whines, rubbing his hair on Lucas shoulder seeking for comfort.
''It does count. A non-verbal communication.'' Lucas did not elaborate further for his friend. He is too lazy for that. Besides, he knows Owen could get the point quickly. He will not befriend a slow poke. Nah, not really. Owen is just a different breed.
Owen did not reply anymore. He showed his affections to his friend which Lucas did not mind.
Physical touch.
Few moments pass, Lucas deciding it was enough, pushes Owen's head away from him gently at the same time a bit rough.
''That's enough. We need to get going. Right, why were you so late huh?'' Before a complain almost go through, Lucas intercepts with a question, successfully diverting Owen's attention.
Owen stood straighter like a bamboo and then looks around. Lucas influence by his friend's action, did also. Only students passing by is what he sees. Nothing abnormal.
Lucas' anger shot up.
"Before you get angered, I know from the way you look right now,'' Owen pointed out.
That made Lucas shut up.
''I was observing okay? No need to get angry with this. Besides, I am here. Not missing in action like I sometimes do. Gonna be present in moments like this.'' Owen states, waiting a reply yet all he receives was silence.
He peers over. Lucas had walked away from him. A deadpan expression on his face. Looking like he does not want to be in the presence of his friend.
''Lucas! Hey. Hey. Wait for me will ya?" Owen bellows, running towards his friend. Much to his surprise, Lucas began to run, lengthening their distance.
Lucas had his patience run out because of Owen. Before the meter could plummet down even more, he made a decision to run away. Times like this, he needs his alone time so that his temper will not explode. He needs to regulate his emotions or else, he is somewhat similar to a cat. When his tail is being stepped on, he gets vexed so much that he wants to ignore his surroundings.
Reaching their classroom with Owen catching up behind him, he entered the class.
