When Ryker entered the treasure room, he couldn't help but be amazed. Just in the first row, there are already Genesis Grade 5 Materials, all of them being rare items one could not see often.
And that is just the first few rows. When he entered deeper into the treasure room, there were more and more treasures of the Grade 6 and 7. However, there are no Grade 8, which he suspected to be kept somewhere else by the city lord.
He couldn't be greedy though, as the treasures in front of him are more than enough to raise his comprehension of the Paths of his choosing. As he had made the decision for quite some time, he began to look for any treasures related to Law of Life and Light.
As he passed through the different treasures, it took all of his willpower to not grab what he didn't need for now. It's a very hard fight as some of the treasure could likely help him raise the level of his Cultivation Art, yet he persevered.
Not bothering to take any of the Grade 5 Materials, he focused on the Grade 6 and 7. It didn't take him long to find a suitable treasure with an affinity to the Law of Life.
"This is, if I remember it correctly, this is a Seed of Life, but a low-level one at that," he exclaimed, looking at the single seed inside a wooden box. The wooden box itself is made of high-level materials, the Life Preserving Wood.
Life Preserving Wood is a material used to store spiritual herbs and fruits, as it can maintain the vitality and freshness of the materials in question. Similar to the Seed of Life, it is one of the lower level Life Preserving Wood.
He took the seed, along with the box as he wanted to make sure the Life aura of the seed would not be reduced if he didn't take it along with him. With the first materials found, he began to look for the second one in his checklist.
Unlike the Seed of Life, he was able to find the second desired treasure with ease, mainly because of the fact it let out a huge beam of light that could be seen from a far distance. He walked towards the source of light as he covered his eyes, not wanting to be blinded by it.
When he gets close, he uses his mastery of Law of Darkness and covers it, allowing him to take a good look at the treasure in question. "As I expected, a Light Crystal, and not just any Light Crystal, a Pure Light Crystal at that!" he happily said to himself.
As the name suggested, Pure Light Crystal is different in that there are no impurities in the crystal, at all. While Light Crystal may have some impurities because it was formed around rocks and dust, Pure Light Crystal usually formed in the center of a Light Crystal deposit, making it the purest out of the bunch.
He looked at the clothes under the Pure Light Crystal, recognizing it as the hide of a Shadow Panther. The creature is infamous for its mastery of Law of Darkness, able to traverse through the night or any sufficiently dark places unseen.
It spoke volumes of how capable the person that took down the creature was as it was hard to even find one, much less kill one without damaging the hide by too much. Similarly, he wrapped the crystal with the hide, not wanting to suffer from the constant exposure of light directly into his eyes.
With the first two items already chosen, all that is left is for the last treasures to be picked. He decided to go through the list of Cultivation Art he hadn't gone through yet, along with which Paths he wanted to master to the Elementary Understanding Realm.
"I have mastered Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Nature, Metal, Darkness, and Death. I already found the resource for Crystals, Life, and Light. All that is left is Ice, Yin, Yang, Gravity, Space, and Time.
The last three is the hardest one to find, so I can't put my hope up to find the necessary resource here. That's left Ice, Yin, and Yang. Ice will likely be the easiest out of them all, so I should try to look for any resources with high affinity to Law of Ice and maybe try to find one related to Law of Yin and Yang,"
Making up his mind, he began his search for the resources he needed. Unfortunately, despite the size of the treasure room, or maybe it is because of it, he didn't find a single treasure related to any of the three Laws he was looking for.
"Do I really have to go find Grade 5 resources?" he mumbled to himself. In the end, he decided to do one last round check before he took a look at the Grade 5 treasures.

He let out a disappointed sigh. Despite his best efforts, he didn't find any Grade 6 or 7 Ice treasures or anything remotely close to it. Not finding anything else, he was about to walk toward the Grade 5 shelves when he sensed something.
He took a quick look around before he found a small bowl with water inside of it. However, the water inside is not any regular water. In fact, it was water with black and white coloring, with the two colors on the opposing side, and didn't even merge.
"Wait, doesn't this look like a symbol of Yin and Yang?" he asked himself before confirming that it looks like a Yin and Yang symbol.
He let out a broad smile, after all, Yin and Yang-related resources and treasures are scarce, and the fact he found one that has both is a miracle in itself. However, he planned to ask the city lord first about the treasure, as he might shed the name of the unknown treasure.

"This is... ah, it had been so long ago that I forgot all about this thing," the city lord exclaimed, looking pleasantly surprised by the bowl of water.
"City Lord, do you know what this is?" he asked, hoping he actually had the knowledge regarding the treasure he had chosen.
"This treasure is called Yin and Yang Duality Source Water. Similar to many resources, it is also graded with this being one of the low-grade ones, maybe at the 7, maybe Grade 8," the reveal of the grade is a surprise, but a welcome one.
"Even if it is a loss to me, I already promised you can pick any treasures in the treasury so I won't go back on my word. It's your luck to pick that thing so just make sure to use it properly," Ryker absentmindedly nodded, before saying his farewell to the city lord, who gave him a ruefull smile.
