While Ryker wished to cause trouble to the person behind the clearly unfair match, he, unfortunately, had promised to learn formation-making. So, with a heavy heart, he went to the Craftsman Alliance building, though not before giving his lovers an order.
"Don't go to the arena today, there is no telling what will happen to you if you did," the women nodded solemnly. If not for his interference, Mashia would have suffered as a result.
With that, Ryker headed towards the Craftsman Alliance building, hoping to finish learning about the last of the major professions.

When he arrived, the others' eyes quickly fell on him. After all, his talent had already been proven and confirmed by some of the best in the branch of Craftsman Alliance. Already used to it, the receptionist pointed the way to the place for the formation-making department.
He walked there and greeted his instructor for the day. The woman nodded, before leading him to the room. As Ryker entered it, he could see several different materials and already prepared formation tools and formation core.
The woman watched him with scrutiny as he observed everything inside the room. When he turned his head towards her, the woman gave him a nod before beginning her lecture.
"Formation making, at least compared to the other 4 major professions, is the hardest of them all. However, it is mostly because of how large a formation can be compared to weapons, pills, talismans, and items.
Because of how even a relatively small formation could fit a small room, it stands to reason why the creation of a formation is so hard. Don't worry though, with my guidance I will make you one of the best formation specialists in Kilrun Duchy,"
Ryker tried to not roll his eyes at the arrogant proclamation, though it took all his willpower to do so. The woman, who did not notice or did not care, moved on to the more informative part.
"You know about runes and talisman-making from what you learned yesterday, right?" he nodded at the statement, "Well, formation-making can be considered similar to how to make a talisman or inscription.
Think of it this way, the formation tools that are used to form the nodes of the formation are like the runes put in the edges or outer part of a talisman while the formation core is similar to the rune in the center of a talisman.
However, that is where the similarity ends, as while runes can be created as long as there are inks or something used for engraving, formation requires formation tools to function, with formation cores akin to a formation beating heart.
The part of the formation nodes can use either natural treasures or formation tools. Natural treasures that could power and make a relatively large formation work are rare so the formation tool is the substitute that is mostly used by most formation makers.
Usually, we ask a blacksmith or an item crafter to create the formation tools but sometimes, a talented formation maker will learn how to blacksmith or item crafting to supplement the formation they are making.
Because you are already a certified blacksmith and item crafter, then you will not have the trouble that plagued most formation makers, waiting for a blacksmith or item crafter to be available and hoping there is no one to steal the spot.
The formation also requires a great amount of energy to function. All formations can absorb the energy from the surroundings to power it up but it often is not enough. To allow the formation to keep on going, fuel like Genesis Stone, Genesis Crystal, or some expensive natural resource is used to increase its functioning time.
Formation requires nodes to do what it's supposed to do. Those nodes in turn need to have the corresponding natural resources or formation tools that resonate with it's function.
For example, a basic energy-gathering formation requires Genesis Grade 1 Formation Tools or Materials to form its nodes. The formation tools and materials on the other hand must have the ability to channel and conduct energy, allowing energy to be absorbed and gathered inside the formation.
However, you can just put the formation tools and formation core and be done with it. You must first arrange the shape of the formation and determine which tools or natural treasures will be put where.
Then, when you are done putting it together, you must create a connection between the formation tools or natural treasures so it will finally function. When there is a connection between the different formation tools and natural treasures the formation nodes can be considered finished.
Of course, it was not the end as you need to put the formation core. While the formation core will be the one to be put in its place first, it is the last one to be connected as if you connect the core early on, it might channel energy to the formation before you get to finish.
To avoid this happening, the core will be the last one to be connected. When you connect the core to the rest of the formation, you need to be careful as it is a delicate process and the slightest failure will lead to the destruction of the formation as the worst-case scenario.
Now, the explanation is over. It's time for you to see the process before you can start your attempt," the formation specialist grabs the finished formation tools and formation core before taking it to the center of the room.
"This can be called a training formation as we don't want to expend too much resources building a real formation. This formation is a simplified and smaller version of a Genesis Grade 1 Energy Gathering Formation and the tools and core are the same except smaller and not as valuable as the real deal.
Now, watch closely," Ryker quickly paid attention to the formation specialist, the woman already arranging the tools and core in the desired spot, though it was done slowly and even after the arrangement was done, the woman patiently waited as Ryker observed the exact placement.
"Now, this is where the magic started," she announced, qi flowing from her into the formation tools. Ryker had thought he would stop being mesmerized by watching an auxiliary specialist completing their craft but he was wrong.
The way she controls her qi and the energy from the formation tools and core is impressive, similar yet different than the other instructor. He observed that the different energy emitted from the different tools intertwined and resonated with each other, helping powering and connecting the formation.
When the tools forming the nodes were finished connecting, the woman began to move the energy to resonate with the hardest hurdle, the core. He watched as the energy from the core and the nodes intertwined to perfection, no flaw can be seen by the merge.
Even though the woman makes it look so effortless, Ryker could tell the process is hard and complicated.
