Chapter 93 - Deep Lake Lotus

Looking at the lotus, he couldn't help but think the treasure was the one for him. He decided to take a quick look at the plaque near it and read it.

"Deep Lake Lotus. Found at the deepest part of the lake southeast of the Birak Kingdom. Contained a huge amount of water energy. People who didn't cultivate Cultivation Art related to Law of Water would find themselves being drowned by the water it created.

To prevent such a thing from happening, one must either have level one mastery of Law of Water, practice a Cultivation Art related to Law of Water, or be at the Genesis Source realm. If you didn't have any of the qualifications, the only outcome is being drowned by the treasure."

Hearing the description, Ryker couldn't help but ask how many had died to treasures with similar property. The thought was then pushed away. He knew the treasure in front of him would be useful for him, so he needed to take it.

Thankfully, the Boundless Water Mantra was a Cultivation Art he had spent some time trying to comprehend. While he didn't reach the level one mastery of Law of Water, his ability to circulate the Boundless Water Mantra would be the one to help him take the treasure.

He then looked at the plaque once more, in case he was missing some important information. Thankfully, he did that as he would have missed the warning at the last part, "Take the Deep Lake Lotus with its container. If not, the treasure would release its water energy, making it drop in grade every hour.

Fwh, it's a good thing a look again. If not, it would be all for nothing," he said to himself. He looks at the treasure, spotting the container. It was a small pedestal made of silver-colored materials. He was not sure what the material was but it was likely to be useful.

He wondered if he had to return it or be allowed to take it with him. He shook his head, deciding to ask the question after he had done taking the treasure. He circulates the Boundless Water Mantra, absorbing some of the water energy it lets out.

He constantly gathered and refined the water energy, stopping it from forming a water bubble around him. He didn't want to drown so soon after all. He moved towards the treasure before cupping it and taking it with him.

He wondered if he should put it into his storage ring or not. In the end, he decided to do so, not wanting to have to constantly circulate the art for as long as he held the treasure. After finishing storing it, he heads towards the door, planning to ask some questions.

Solail looked at the door nervously. It had been nearly an hour since he had entered the treasury. He wondered if he took other treasures other than the two but highly doubted it. His father had told him he was only allowed to take one storage ring provided by the Hal Family while his personal ones would be given to his family for safekeeping.

As for the old man, he looked at the door with approval. Taking some time to take the treasure would mean he looked at every treasure and tried to determine if it would be useful to him or not.

He didn't worry about the possibility of the young man taking more than two. He has a tool that allows him to be connected to the racks in the vault. If any treasures were removed, it would give him a signal, allowing him to check if he took more than one or not.

However, the treasure could only tell him how many treasures were taken, not which one. For him to know, he needed to ask the young man. He was sure the young man would answer him truthfully.

He knew the young man had taken the second treasure, and likely heading out already. He wondered which treasure attracted the young man.

'Looks like I'm going to get my answer soon,' he thought to himself, the young man in question exiting the vault.

Ryker gets out of the treasury to see the two men waiting for him. Not wanting to anger the elder, he exited the treasury. The two men quickly appeared in front of him. Surprisingly, it was the older one who looked more eager.

"So, which treasure do you take? I would like to note it down in case someone wants the treasure," the der man said. After all, he needed to tell the ancestor of the content of the treasury every month though it mostly told which items had already been taken.

"I took the Establishing Foundation Pill," Ryker said, the old man nodding.

"So you took the more common treasure but one you can use. Make sense. But don't look down on it, the pill, while not rare, is hard to come by. For our family, we already have some reserves and don't need to go to the treasury to take them.

The reason why it was stored there is because all of the pills have Pill Marks. All 20 of them," he told Ryker, whose eyes widened to hear such a thing.

"Isn't Pill Mark hard to form?" he asked. The old man makes a humming noise, "For a Genesis Rank 4 Alchemist, yes, but for a Genesis Rank 5 Alchemist, then it would be around one in a ten possibility. So we have some, but not a lot. Most of it was saved for the direct descendants and important personal usage,"

Ryker nodded, the explanation made sense. After all, while it was hard to come by in the market due to the stock being purchased whenever one appeared, the powerful family would likely have ways to get their hands on it, whether by having their own alchemist or buying it at the highest price possible.

"The second treasure?" the old man asked, Solail also looking at him, wondering what kind of treasure he took from the treasury.

Ryker pulled out the Deep Lake Lotus, the two's eyes widened to a comical level from seeing it.

"Deep Lake Lotus! To think you can take it out!" the old man said in surprise, Solail sharing the same look as his father.

"Didn't one only need to cultivate Cultivation Art related to Law of Water?" he asked, surprised by the reaction.

"It's not as simple as that. Our family has some cultivators that practiced those types of Arts but they couldn't take it without being enveloped by a water bubble. We speculate to take it, one needs to have a High-Grade Genesis Art or even better,"
