Chapter 80 - Battling Genesis Core Expert

He returned by the time the night was about to fall. He checked on Solance first, the young master still sleeping soundly. He hoped he wouldn't have any questions or he might be unable to hide more of his secrets.

Hoping to rest for a while, he lies down, his thought goes back to everything he learned from the expert's memories.

"Cultivation Art was split into 3 Realms, based on the Grand realm. So Genesis, Spirit, and Source. Then in those Grand realms, it was split into three, Low, Intermediate, and High.

As for Path, the level of mastery is a bit harder to understand but I think I can understand some of it. For one who just started, they will be on level zero mastery. The first stage is called Elementary Understanding, followed by Comprehension and then Mastery.

Father and Mother's art were much better so they might be at the Source realm. While grade it is I'm not sure but all of them likely have the same grade. I wonder how strong mother and father are during their prime,

But, if they were so strong, why didn't they ever explain the different grades of Cultivation Art or different levels of mastery?" Ryker lamented. As he thought about it, he let out a big yawn.

'Better go to sleep first, ask the question later,' he thought to himself, slowly falling asleep.

The two woke up at the same time. Ryker quickly prepared their meals, ignoring any questions about what happened yesterday. However, due to his insistent asking, Ryker decided to tell him a half-truth.

"I drugged your food so you can get a longer rest. Because we need to be at our strongest if we want to survive the expert they going to send after us," he said, making the young master accept reluctantly, before his eyes went wide as he remembered what he said.

"You drugged me?!" Ryker ignored his unimportant question, instead focusing on finishing his food. The young master decided to accept he was drugged though he swore some form of revenge on his so-called friend.

The two began their journey when Ryker stopped Solance.

"I should go alone. If the enemy is too strong then at least I'm able to escape," he reasoned with the young master. He looked reluctant but accepted his advice. The young master retreated to where the path should end while Ryker began to walk to the capital.

It took him 10 minutes before he looked up and yelled, "How long are you going to watch me?!"

An elderly man descends, flying without the use of any flying tools or techniques, confirming the fact that the Uru Family sends a Genesis Core expert after them. He looked at his cultivation, ascertaining that the man in front of him was at the 5th Stage.

If it was before, he would have a hard time dealing with the man. But with the rise in his cultivation, he believed his chances to beat him were higher.

"I am going to watch for a bit longer but who knew someone is you is so perspective. How about you have a drink with this old man? Invite that friend of yours too," the old man said.

"Fat chance. What about we stopped playing with our words and just fight already?" Ryker exclaimed, his aura began to envelop the forest as he stared at the elderly man with contempt.

"I want to give you a chance but since you are such an arrogant junior, this old master has to teach you a lesson. Don't blame this old master, this old master already tried to give you an easy way out so you brat should just get ready to die," the old man sneered, flying away as several Genesis Foundation experts appeared.

Ryker looked at them in contempt. He moved so quickly, that they were barely able to react when he reached one of them, his fist blowing the head of one of the Uru's Family experts. In a short time, he ended the entire Genesis Foundation force, and the elderly man looked at him in horror.

The horror turned to rage as he yelled, "You dare kill my Uru Family elites! Die you brat!" he punched the ground, Ryker barely avoiding the powerful attack.

He looked at the old man with some concern. While he does have some chance of winning, the prerequisite is that he would be able to hit the old man. With him flying out of his range, the chances of him hitting the old man had been lowered.

He focused on dodging for now, slowly tiring the expert down. Even though Genesis Core possessed an innate ability to fly using a small amount of qi, they still consume qi though if they remained floating in one place, they can do it indefinitely.

However, if they float in one place and bombard an area at the same time, their qi consumption would be much greater, forcing them to fly down when they drain much of their qi. The only problem is that Genesis Core experts had a large amount of qi, so such a strategy would be foolish.

The only way he could harm him is by getting close to him. As he avoided the blast, he waited for the right moment before using the Shadow Traversing Technique, hiding himself while moving closer to the old man.

"Where are you, your brat?! The old man called out in rage, his pride as a Genesis Core expert would be ruined if he let a brat at the Genesis Foundation realm escape. He unleashed more attacks, his qi being burned as he blasted the entire area.

As he focused on the ground, he didn't notice a shadow slithering toward him, a figure appearing from the shadow as he was kicked in the gut, sending him crashing to the ground. Ryker took the chance to get closer, Monkey Lord Fist was used to force the enemy on the defense.

However, he was fighting a Genesis Core expert, the expert in question created a qi barrier before retreating, watching with a certain wariness on the young man. If he had thought the young man was merely lucky, he had to change it to the fact the young man was absolutely powerful.

Not only did he catch him by surprise, but his attacks also almost shattered his qi barrier. He knew the Genesis Foundation expert in front of him was different compared to the others he had met.

He decided to not fly, as he was sure if he made any attempt to fly the young man would strike him with as much strength as he got. He took out his weapon, a staff that had been in his possession for a long time.

He watched as the young man took out a sword, likely answering him pulling a weapon out. He looked calmly, the battle between the two would only get more intense.
