Chapter 48 - THREAT

"I advise you not to pin your hopes on Tang Li Xue. The higher your expectations, the greater your disappointment will be." In just a few minutes, He Muyun was close to breaking her phone.

Unfortunately, the phone remained silent.

Her heart raced faster and faster, and the hope that had just risen in her heart gradually dissipated.

"Yutong, I think you must have misunderstood something. Auntie has been loving you with all her heart for so many years. You can't listen to other people's nonsense. I don't believe you!" As a mother and daughter, He Muyun's acting skills were several levels higher than Tang Li Xue's.

Before she could finish her words, He Muyun was already crying.

If she didn't know the truth beforehand, based on He Muyun's incredible acting skills, she would have believed everything she said.

Unfortunately, Tang Yutong just smiled and approached her step by step. "Auntie, it's not that I don't believe you, but I have already found out the whole truth. Do you still refuse to tell me the truth at this point?"

Her gaze made He Muyun feel a bit uneasy, but she still pretended to know nothing. "I really don't know what you're talking about, Yutong. I have to go find your sister, or she'll worry about me."

As she spoke, she was about to leave, but was directly stopped by Tang Yutong. "I don't have the patience to continue talking to you, He Muyun. You can tell me the truth now or not at all."

"I really don't know anything. If I did, I would have told you a long time ago. But I really don't know anything, Yutong. No matter how you try to force me, it's useless." She insisted that she knew nothing. After all, He Muyun had been gambling for so many years, and she wouldn't be scared by a little girl like Tang Yutong.

Seeing that she had made up her mind not to say anything, Tang Yutong was helpless and anxiously looked in a certain direction, but there was still no movement. Unconsciously, she felt disappointed, as if she had realized that He Muyun posed no major threat to her. So, when He Muyun quietly retreated to the back, she was caught by the people at the door when she was about to leave. Tang Yutong still hadn't noticed any movement on her side and had been thinking about getting Mo Jin to take action.

She knew that she was no match for He Muyun on her own, so the only way to get her to tell the truth was to have Mo Jin deal with her. Seeing Tang Yutong's hope, Mo Jin waved his hand outside and Lei Gong understood, walking over and asking, "Boss, what are your orders?"

Mo Jin pursed his lips and replied, "I remember there are a few big appetite wolves here. I wonder if they can scare her."

Understanding his meaning, Lei Gong answered, "Of course. Those wolves have even eaten people before. I'll go get them and show them to He Muyun."

As Lei Gong was about to leave, Mo Jin reminded him, "Don't be too direct. I think someone like her won't be scared if she faces them directly. So, let her be scared for a while. Maybe then she'll listen."

Lei Gong nodded and left. Just as Tang Yutong was feeling helpless and about to give up on He Muyun leaving, the room next door suddenly filled with the sound of barking dogs.

At first, she was puzzled because she didn't hear any barking before. But Lei Gong walked up and answered her question, "Those wolves have a big appetite. Boss said only they can make people obedient."

Tang Yutong understood his words and smiled slightly. She walked towards He Muyun, who was being held by someone, and narrowed her eyes. "He Muyun, do you know why the dogs in the next room are barking so loudly?"

She didn't know why she suddenly asked this question, but He Muyun had a bad feeling and instinctively avoided answering. "What does it have to do with me? What dogs? What barking? It has nothing to do with me. Let me go! I'll call the police and have you all arrested. You'll all be caught."

"Arrested? I think you should worry about yourself. I'm afraid that if you don't tell the truth, I'll throw you into the next room. Then those wolves will all pounce on you. Maybe you won't even have a complete corpse left," Tang Yutong said.

"I...I won't. You wouldn't dare, Tang Yutong. I'm a living person. How dare you lay a hand on me?" He Muyun said.

"A cornered rabbit will bite. Even more so for me. So, I think you should think carefully about the consequences. I'll give you thirty seconds to think. If you don't tell the truth, I'll have someone throw you in there. If you die, I won't be in trouble. At least, I won't lose out, right?"

She finished speaking, counting down the time. In the last second, He Muyun hurriedly said, "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything! Don't kill me, don't feed me to those dogs, I don't want to die, I want to live."

Smirking, Tang Yutong knew she would agree. She lazily sat on the side and said, "Since Auntie has said so, just tell us. What happened? Why did my dad die? And what does it have to do with you?"

After being bombarded with several questions, He Muyun pursed her lips and closed her eyes. Finally, she began to speak, "It was Lixue who killed your father. After she accidentally killed him, she came to me. I told her to push all the blame onto you, and then she would be fine."

Taking a deep breath, even though she already knew the truth, hearing it from He Muyun's mouth still hurt. "My dad was so good to you all, he gave you everything and never let you suffer. Why? Why couldn't you just let him go? What did he do wrong? Are you not afraid of divine retribution? I used to think you were just morally corrupt, but I never thought you were rotten to the core."
