Della, Lexi and Robin started their journey optimistically. Della was a bit nervous, but she wanted to unveil the truth and fulfil her mission.
"I've solved many cases, but this one sure is a menace" Said Della.
"Don't lose your hope. We'll solve this mystery with our determination" Said Robin.
"Yes, Della. We are always on your side" Followed Lexi.
Della felt motivated. They reached their destination, Della went forward to knock the door with her trembling hand. The door was opened by an old man.
"Hello ma'am, how can I help you?" Asked the old man.
Della introduced them and elucidated him about the letter.
The old man was astounded and refused it.
"I'm sorry mam, I think you misunderstood me for someone else" claimed the old man.
"Sir, the name was not written but this is the exact same address." objected Della.
"Ma'am, we moved here recently, someone else was staying here before us . If you want any details about them, you can contact the neighbours" Suggested the old man.
"Oh, thank you for your cooperation Sir" Said Della.
Now, without hesitation Della and her friends went to the neighbours to inquire about the old owners.
This time, Robin knocked on the door.
"I'm coming" Said a cranky voice.
Robin took a step back. An old lady opened the creaky door.
"What do you want?" The lady asked rudely.
"Sorry for disturbing ma'am, can we get some information about your old neighbour" Said Della with a peaceful smile.
The lady took a paper and started writing something.
Della and her friends wondered. The lady handed the paper and said
"I just came here. The old owner's address is mentioned here. Go find it by yourself!", and she shut the door close.
The paper carried another address.
"This is such a hassle" Said Robin
"This sure is a complicated one" Said Lexi
"Fight, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel" Said Della
Now, They were all set to go.
Robin stopped everyone for a moment.
"Guys, the old man might be lying. We can't just trust him like that. We need to go and inquire him more about this."
"Yes, We should do something.I'm losing hope as we're standing in a dead end right now." Said Lexi with anguish.
"Why didn't I think of that?" Asked Della.
" Della, this is the only issue with you. You trust people so easily. If you're gonna stay like this, this might get us to peril." Said Robin.
"Shut u--"
"Can y'all stop fighting? Let's just go and inquire the old man again." Said Lexi and stopped the fight.
They went to the house and stood in front of the old man's door.
KNOCK KNOCK
The old man opened the door again.
"Hello ma'am. How can I help you again?"
" Sorry to barge in again. The old lady next to your house was acting really discourteous." Said Della.
"I guess you are still suspecting me, you can come and take a look inside my house..."
They sat inside the house and they drank a cup of coffee that the grandpa's wife served them.
"We moved here 4 months ago. We couldn't meet the old house owners. But , I remember the old neighbours used to tell us how gentle they were. If you're inquiring about a crime, I'm pretty sure it's not the old house owners." Said the grandpa.
Nothing seemed suspicious so they left.
"Oh, thank you sir. I'm glad you responded with courtesy." Said Della and went to the house that was given by the old lady.
There was another huge surprise for them to see.
