Chapter 18 - Chapter 15

It might look blurry at the beginning of the road but the more you go, the more you see.

Naomi followed Jane to the kitchen. Naomi was marveled on how modern the kitchen was.

"Eric likes his things Neat and expensive." Jane commented.

"Seems like Eric is not just a daddy's boy" Naomi wondered looking around the kitchen.

Jane looked at the girl properly again. She was indeed beautiful. Her skin looks like they were milk. Her long neck complimented her oval face and gave her the looks of a white woman. She would blend well with the white and no one will tell she is black. Looking down her body. " Oh look at that curve God! " Jane exclaimed inside her. Pregnancy did highlighted her features. She became full and curvy.

Naomi returned her gaze to Jane and caught her gawking at her.

Naomi coughs to bring Jane back to reality.

" Are you wearing contact lens?" Jane asked with a narrowed eyes.

" No" Naomi answered blinking her eyes.

Jane was more than puzzled, how can someone be so perfect. No wonder Eric still brought her home despite her being pregnant for another man.

Jane clears her throat.

" Will you like some water melons or some gossips" Jane teased

Naomi laughed and said " Water melon is cool and a little gossip won't be bad. I won't to know everything about Eric and his politician Father"

" Wait! Eric didn't tell you?" Jane asked.

"No! We have known each other only for a few weeks." Naomi replied.

"Well, I think it will be best you hear it from him. Eric's life is not that simple" Jane said slicing the water melon.

" Really? That's so cruel. Eric is a nice person" Naomi with low spirit.

She was thinking Eric was a spoilt only son for a wealthy politician.

" Does Eric have siblings?" Naomi couldn't her curiosity.

" Yes, he does. Two step brother and a sister but she passed away before Eric was brought to the mansion. Eric holds his father accountable for the death of his sister. I keep asking my self this question. Why would a father allow his daughter to die when he could have saved her? Even Eric was only brought to the mansion when his mother died of cancer. He even adopted his own son as his nephew so that the world will not know that the Almighty chief Magnus had an affair outside his marriage that produced two children. A father that choses fame over his children. " Jane said sighing.

" Believe me, not all the mansions you see out there are filled with happy people. Some are just an illusion of a happy life. Chief Magnus's family is a family you would never wish to be born into" Jane said.

" It's sad though but I bet people like us who has been in the streets for a while will still want to enjoy this mansion" Naomi said reliving past memories.

Jane got lost in her eyes again. The similarities were just too much but how could Emily's daughter be in the capital city?

"Naomi" Jane called looking straight at her. Naomi was baffled. Why was this woman staring at her like she knew her from somewhere.

"Nevermind" Jane said with a fake smile. Naomi looked her strangely again. She was about to ask her if anything was the problem when Jane brat her to it.

"Can you sit on the sofa while, I get something upstairs?" Jane asked

"Sure, no problem" Naomi said turning to go back to the living room.

"Careful steps honey" Jane said behind her.

Immediately she was out of sight, Jane took in deep breaths. She almost lost her mind with the kind of familiarity she was having with this total stranger. She walks into her room and search for the picture of her sister. It's been ages she had contact with her sister but she couldn't forget those eyes. Those eyes were exactly the same as Emily's.

"Oh God, I hope this is just a trick of that fate is trying to play on me" Jane muttered still looking for the picture.

" Oh Emily, what happened to you? I know you will never let your child wander off while you are still alive. God please, I hope my sister is safe wherever she is" Jane muttered as tears stream down her face.

Finally, she got the picture and she could almost see the shadow in her sister. They had the same features aside skin color. Jane was choked with tears.

" Come on Jane pull yourself together! Just being similar doesn't mean they are related" She said trying to convince herself. After pulling herself together, she decided she will get a DNA test to confirm before concluding.

Back in the living room, Naomi was lost in thoughts. she was worried on about her mother and how she was faring without her. Her thoughts wandered to Dave. She misses him, despite warning herself not to think of him. No way she can't think of him, he hates her now. She sighed. Will she ever be able to heal from her past? Looking around her environment, she smiled faintly. God was giving her a chance! A chance to be cared for and loved without the restrictions of being a female. But she knows every good thing comes at a cost. So what cost will she be paying for this luxury she has received.
