Before Julianna knew what was going on, Drake was right in front of her. Gently tucking the strand of hair behind her ear, he reached his hand to her face and said,
"Relax, Anna."
Drake just hugged her after those three words were enough to cause some doubt in her mind.
Julianna sensed something was not right, and her suspicion grew when Drake remained silent.
Drake continued to cling to her, believing that she was the only thing keeping him safe from his past experiences.
Without saying anything, Julianna felt him tighten his hold around her and return the hug.
Drake eventually withdrew after some time and fixed his intense gaze on Julianna's calm eyes.
"For now, I just want to be with you." Julianna shrank in his grasp and nodded silently as he spoke in a hoarse voice.
As the couple made their way further into the house, she noticed small candles lit on the sidewalls.
