Chapter 19 - Chapter :19 Han is a knight?...

"Ahhh!!" Damian let out a startled cry as he hastily retreated, his steps faltering in the dark. Panic flooded his senses as he realized the creature was chasing him. Each heavy footfall behind him only fueled his desperation to escape.

Shshh! Bursting through the edge of the forest, Damian stumbled onto the beach, the glow of the bonfire illuminating the scene. There, in all its towering glory, stood the creature—an enormous bear-like entity, standing at an astonishing 8 feet tall. It had long, fearsome claws that made Damian's heart skip a beat.

In a split second, Damian's instincts kicked in, and he conjured a water ball in his hand, ready to defend himself. Grrrrrr!!! The creature growled, its eyes fixed on Damian.

With determination in his eyes, Damian released the water ball, aiming it straight at the creature's belly. The impact was accompanied by a momentary silence, as both Damian and the bear stood frozen in their tracks.

However, his attack proved more comical than impactful. The water ball hit the bear's belly with a soft splat, prompting a momentary pause filled with bewildered silence.

To Damian's surprise, the bear appeared puzzled rather than enraged. It began rubbing its belly, a bewildered expression crossing its furry face. It seemed to question, "Are these humans attempting to bathe me with a pitiful splash?"

While the peculiar interaction unfolded, the commotion caught the attention of the rest of the crew members, stirring them from their slumber. Confusion mixed with amusement as they witnessed the unusual sight before them.

Meanwhile, Damian cautiously continued his retreat, taking slow steps backward. Grrrr!! The bear roared, its intention to pounce clear. Thinking quickly, Damian managed to scramble out of harm's way, narrowly avoiding the bear's attack.

In a twist of fate, a loud clicking sound resonated through the air. Suddenly, the bear split in two, as if sliced by an invisible hand. The two halves thudded to the sandy ground, eliciting a bewildered silence from both Damian and the surrounding onlookers. "Shhooosh!", Acoomponied by a gust of wind which  whisked away the remnants of the bear, leaving Damian covered in a shower of sand.

"Collect the bear's body; we can cook it," Han said, confidently sheathing his sword. Without delay, he commanded some of the crew members to rush forward and retrieve the fallen creature, their eyes gleaming with anticipation at the thought of a hearty meal.

Walking purposefully towards Damian, Han's expression bore a mixture of concern and firmness. "You shouldn't be wandering around at night, kid," he stated firmly, his voice carrying a hint of caution. He knew firsthand the dangers lurking in the darkness, and he was determined to impart this wisdom to the young adventurer.

Observing Damian in a dazed state, Han couldn't help but inwardly sigh. "Seems like he got a good scare, but perhaps this will knock some sense into him," he thought, contemplating the gravity of the world beyond their ship. He knew all too well that the realm they traversed was no mere playground, but a realm teeming with challenges and perils.

A spark of admiration twinkled in Damian's eyes as he looked up at Han, his voice filled with awe. "Whoa! That's cool! How did you do it?" he exclaimed, as if gazing upon a superhero. Han couldn't help but wonder if he had underestimated the young adventurer's ability to grasp the reality of their journey.

"Mmm, maybe I misjudged this kid," Han silently acknowledged, his initial skepticism waning. It appeared that Damian's innocence and enthusiasm were not easily extinguished, despite the dangers he faced.

As all commotion calm down , the flames crackled and danced in the night, casting a warm glow on their faces, the group gathered around the bonfire once again. The tantalizing aroma of the sizzling bear meat filled the air, the succulent pieces hanging on sticks, slowly cooking over the open flame.

Damian, his eyes filled with curiosity and wonder, couldn't contain his eagerness to learn the secrets behind Han's impressive display of power.

"Come on, Mr. Han," Damian pleaded, his voice brimming with childlike excitement. "Tell me, what was that? How did you slice the bear in half with a gust of wind? And the way you dispersed the fog before it was definitely you that time, it was incredible! Please, share your knowledge with me."

Han chuckled softly, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. The crackling fire seemed to reflect his mischievous spirit.

"Ah, Damian," Han began, his voice carrying a hint of wisdom. "What you witnessed was the culmination of years of training, discipline, and a deep understanding of the forces that govern our world. You see, my young friend, it is not a mere trick or a simple move. It is an art, a skill honed through countless battles and experiences."

Damian leaned in, his eyes fixed on Han's every word, captivated by the enigma that surrounded the seasoned warrior.

"The ability to slice through the air with such precision, to harness the power of wind itself, it is a technique known as Windblade," Han continued, his voice taking on a melodic tone. "It requires a connection with the elements, an understanding of their flow, and a profound respect for their power."

Like mages who possess a magic core to harness and control their mana, knights possess a unique essence that serves as the wellspring of their extraordinary powers on the battlefield. This essence is intricately connected to their unwavering dedication to their knightly code, their rigorous training, and their deep bond with the realm they have sworn to protect.

Damian's eyes widened with curiosity as he listened intently to Han's explanation. Essence? It was a concept foreign to him, yet it intrigued him greatly.

"The knight's essence," Han continued, his voice filled with knowledge and authority, "resides within them, an internal reservoir of energy and power. It fuels their physical prowess, fortitude, and grants them access to special abilities that set them apart on the battlefield."

Damian couldn't help but wonder how this essence was harnessed and utilized by the knights. The concept seemed both mysterious and fascinating.

"Within their essence, knights may find a deep connection and affinity to specific aspects of the world," Han explained, his words carrying a touch of reverence. "This affinity can manifest in different ways, granting them control over elements such as nature, light, justice, or any other thematic aspect that aligns with their knightly order and purpose."

The thought of knights wielding the forces of nature or embodying the very essence of justice filled Damian's imagination with vivid images of valor and power.

"Through their essence, knights can channel its energy," Han continued, his voice growing more animated. "They can tap into its reservoir, enhancing their physical attributes such as strength, speed, and agility. This allows them to perform extraordinary feats on the battlefield, turning the tides of battle in their favor."

Damian's expression spoke volumes as his eyes widened in awe upon hearing about the essence of knights. The concept fascinated him, capturing his imagination and leaving him eager to learn more.

Meanwhile, Kaelen, ever observant, recognized Damian's fascination and decided to contribute to the conversation. "So, knights use their essence to control elemental powers, much like how you manipulated the wind," he remarked, acknowledging Damian's previous display.

Han, intrigued by Kaelen's observation, nodded approvingly. "You have a keen mind," he said, his tone filled with admiration. "It is true that knights possess the ability to harness elemental powers through their essence. However, it is not as straightforward as it is for mages. Knights must first master their own essence, forging a deep bond with it to discover the specific elements they possess."

Damian listened intently, his curiosity growing with each passing word. The idea of knights commanding elemental forces resonated with him, filling his mind with images of blazing fire, coursing water, crackling lightning, and earth-shaking tremors.

Han continued, his voice carrying the wisdom of experience. "To wield their elemental powers, knights need to find a suitable medium to channel their essence. Just as I use my sword as a conduit, knights can utilize various objects or even their own bodies as mediums if they have proper control over their essence."

While ,The aroma of the cooking bear meat permeated the air, its savory scent enticing their senses and provoking a symphony of rumbling stomachs. Han, savoring each delectable bite of the succulent meat, relished in the flavors that danced upon his palate.

"Well, I guess that clarifies some of your doubts," Han said, his voice tinged with a hint of amusement, as he chewed thoughtfully. "If your mind is at ease, then let us embrace the serenity of sleep. The night still holds a few precious hours before the dawn."

Damian, his hunger satiated and his curiosity fulfilled, nodded in agreement. He settled himself on the ground, his eyelids growing heavy with the weight of the day's adventures. As he closed his eyes, the crackling of the fire and the comforting presence of his newfound companions lulled him into a peaceful slumber.
