On the second floor of Zhongyuan Apartment, Jin was fighting brutally with Giant Golden-Crowned Flying Fox bats.
The sun had already set and hidden from the lunar light, and many pairs of red eyes could be seen emerging from the darkness.
The dim light from the corridor only provided limited vision to human eyes. However, those restrictions seemed to have no effect on those glowing amber slit pupils, which flashed at the speed of light between the darkness.
"Weak!" The swift hand, shaped like a spear, followed the evil laugh.
Sprout!
The next moment, the hand easily pierced through the yellow fur, aimed at its heart. Then a overbearing lion roar sent tremors and chills through nearby beings.
[You have successfully killed a Tier 0 - Level 5 Vampiric Bat!]
With a firm grip, the twitching feeling was easily crushed, and the roar became louder but only lasted for a moment, before the gigantic monstrous body fell with a loud impact to the floor.
Previously, Jin didn't understand their weak points, and his senses were overwhelmed by their gigantic size, not to mention that they had purposely destroyed the ceiling to bury him, making his concentration more disturbed.
But now, one of the mighty Vampiric Bats that had been giving Jin problems was easily killed by his own hand. Jin narrowed his eyes at the surrounding Lvl 5 Vampiric bats.
There were a total of seventy Lvl 5 Vampiric Bats, and their numbers kept increasing as he could hear the flapping of wings from the stairs. It actually shocked him. This was just his apartment building.
"What about the hospital and citizens' houses?
"It seems the majority of tenants are already dead. If not, it's impossible for them to have grown to this extent."
Zhongyuan Apartment was only considered a mid-class apartment with a lucky location near Shanghai's central city.
The apartment building has twenty floors, each with six units, for a total of 120 rooms. The majority of its occupants are college students, comprising 50% of the residents, while the remaining 50% are three-person families with an average of two members each.
"If these seventy bats have consumed around 70 people, then those 70 people have already become Blood Slaves.
"Additionally, I cannot rule out the possibility that even a scratch from one of these Blood Slaves can turn another human into their kind," observed Jin.
"I've already killed 20 of them outside, and while I can't be sure, I estimate that I've killed more than 100 Blood Slaves in this corridor alone."
Glancing behind him, Jin surveyed the piles of corpses that blocked half of the corridor, evidence that the majority of tenants were already dead.
"So in conclusion, 80% of the tenants are dead, leaving only 30 people?"
His brain buzzed like a beehive as he tried to calculate the number of survivors, but the task proved too complex for him.
For now, he decided to focus on his mission of saving as many people as possible. "If most of them are already dead, then..." he trailed off, unsure of what to do next.
Narrowing his eyes at the sight of the level 5 vampiric bats gathered before him, they looked almost comical as they hesitated to advance or make a move.
But Jin didn't realize that he, whose body was bathed in the blood of their kind, was actually the monster they should fear.
"Fine then. If you guys are so eager to give me a gift, how can I refuse?" With a chuckle, he advanced forward, crushing the scattered organs beneath his feet.
Like the Grim Reaper, Jin appeared suddenly among the group of level 5 vampiric bats. He pierced one of them with his hand, crushing its organs with ease, and then turned to face the rest of the bats.
[You have successfully killed a Tier 0 - Level 5 Vampiric Bat!]
A roar echoed through the corridor, but quickly subsided. Only then did the rest of the bats react, but their reaction slightly stunned Jin.
"Oh, you want to use numbers?" he chuckled. With their gigantic size, they actually stopped using their brains and charged forward.
ROAR!
A gust of wind flashed, and in this dark corridor near the lift, several of them stood behind Jin.
They suddenly spread their wings at the same time, overwhelming or even replacing the entire structure of the corridor with their membranous wings.
Their wings blocked his path and limited his vision with countless membranous shells.
The next moment, a shadow of their pointy, gigantic fangs lunged towards Jin, trying to rip off his head or even suck him dry, followed by a huge, gigantic wing that charged at him like a bull.
At the same time, another shadow appeared as the other Lvl 5 bats tried to pounce from the side, aiming to rip apart his abdomen and pierce his heart.
Jin, whose body was surrounded by the huge membranous wings of the bats, could only see their furs and dim lights, and the pointed fangs attacking him.
He smiled in response, realizing that he had underestimated them. He thought they were just charging at him, but with their slow movements, how could he miss these attacks?
In a split second, he ducked down, bent his legs, and tensed his muscles to grab the second attack aimed at his abdomen.
Using the gigantic fangs as momentum, he pulled them and threw himself forward, landing exactly in front of one of the creatures covered in yellow fur.
In a swift motion, Jin pierced his hands towards the left part of their body, tearing it to the side, like a sword slash.
With his strength already at 27 points and knowing their weak points, their furs and bones that were once indestructible now felt as soft as tofu.
A loud grunt and roar were heard from the creature before him.
ROAR!
Its head, which had touched the ceiling, roared in agony. However, soon the red glow in its eyes dimmed as its body fell forward.
[You have successfully killed a Tier 0 - Level 5 Vampiric Bat!]
Although he had killed one of them, he didn't feel happy as he saw another lvl 5 Vampiric Bat standing and spreading its wings, just like the one he had killed before.
"They're trying to trap me with a dome?" he wondered. Suddenly, a fang flashed towards him, causing him to slightly bend his body backwards.
BANG!
The missed fang was like a speeding car that couldn't easily stop in the middle. It pierced through one of the bat's membranes but the seemingly feeble membrane was actually strong enough to not get punctured!
Their fangs were their strongest points along with their wings, which was the biggest reason he was troubled before.
"Especially their wing bones," Jin muttered as his slit pupils constantly darted left and right.
Although the limited vision didn't affect him too much, his eyes, seemingly transformed, were not used to distinguishing between a shadow from the light and the shadow from the fangs.
"There's no way out, and they keep ambushing me with their fangs. Well then, should I use the primitive way?" Shaking his head in displeasure and hissing with his tongue, Jin turned his head forward.
Jumping and mercilessly stabbing those soft furs, without caring about their screams and dodging their fallen bodies.

…
Bodies were strewn about the corridor, the screams and cries of agony now silenced after what felt like hours.
Only one shadow remained standing—the exhausted figure of Jin. He had killed countless Lvl 5 Vampiric Bats, gasping for air as he tasted blood in his mouth.
With a tired and sore body, he glared at his surroundings, still tense from the previous battle.
"Finally. This trip was really worth it." He let out a long sigh, leaning his back against the deserted wall.
The once-grand corridor was now filled with bodies, the lift and stairs both completely blocked. Among the corpses and the lunar light from the moon, countless magic crystals emitted their glow.
Jin's eyes constantly scanned the surrounding for a few moments, searching for any lingering threats. Finally, he eased up, letting out a long breath of relief as the tension left his body.
"Not bad, huh? I wonder how much stats I can get after absorbing these." However, just as he became relaxed, a shadow suddenly lunged at him.
Jin was surprised because he couldn't feel its presence, hear its growling, or footsteps.
In the next moment, a human with sharp teeth bit his neck, causing his complexion to turn red like a hot fire.
His eyes rolled down as his head was forced to raise due to the bite, only to see a small Blood Slave continuously chewing on his neck.
"Hey, you little rat!" He groaned and clenched his fist, gripping its shoulder and crushing the remaining feeble power of the Blood Slave.
"GRR!" However, instead of releasing its jaw, the little Blood Slave was persistent as its eyes spotted a drop of blood coming out of his skin.
Jin, who was still in pain, became angry and immediately crushed the skull of the little Blood Slave using both hands.
He raised the head of the Blood Slave to the mid-ari, examining it closely.
"Little girl, it's a pity you've already turned and become one of them. If not, you could have lived long enough to study this cursed world. But..."
The tiny creature groaned in pain and attempted to bite his palm, despite having its skull crushed. In the next moment, Jin separated its head from its neck and threw it aside.
…
"Ow, my neck," he muttered, carefully touching the skin where a small injury had caused his outer skin to rip off.
Just then, he heard hurried footsteps and a loud shout from the emergency stairs where the gigantic corpse of a Lvl 5 Blood Slaves had blocked the door.
Its body trembled as someone tried to force their way through from inside.
Bang! Bang! Surprisingly, with a few more bangs, the gigantic corpse was pushed aside, and the door finally opened, revealing a group of people armed with sharp weapons.
"No! My princess!" an adult woman cried out as she ran towards the head of the tiny Blood Slaves that Jin had just killed.
"You!" she exclaimed as she hugged its head, and the rest of the group suddenly noticed Jin, covered in blood with only slit pupils and amber eyes shining in the darkness of the corridor.
"Demon!"
