"These people are rich and granny never told me how beautiful this place looks like." Olivia thought to herself eyes popping open and continued "I pray the food taste well." she was nervous and started pacing up and down "I don't know why I am feeling nervous. Is it because this is mine first time of cooking outside the house?" she turned around and was tapping feet.
"Maybe because it was my first time cooking for strangers apart from granny and Peter." she heard the door clicked and she stopped thinking immediately. Her heart stopped breathing and she was afraid. Olivia waited for the housekeeper to scream or shout at her but the housekeeper didn't do that.
She only told Olivia, she can leave for her school.
"Okay, thank you ma, I wanted to ask if they like the food?" asked Olivia anxiously.
Olivia was impatient and wanted to know if she was a good cook like her grandma or her food was worse. She doesn't want to let her grandmother down.
The housekeeper smiled and she said "Had it been your food was worse after tasting it. I wouldn't have served it to the kids, cause I know Fred. He wouldn't take it lightly with you." said Mrs Rose chuckled
"Really, how does it taste?" she asked amazed and brushed the thought of the name Fred, the housekeeper mentioned. She wanted to ask her if Fred was the father of the kids but she waved the thought away
"Perfect!" said the housekeeper pleased.
"Perfect?...Are you serious ma'am?" asked Olivia her mouth was wide open.
"You cooked just like your grandma, it shows your grandma raised you well." said the housekeeper grinned
"Thanks ma!" replied Olivia joyfully and she felt relieved "I will start going now." said Olivia immediately she picked her school bag up and started moving to the door
"Have you eaten?" asked the housekeeper suddenly.
"No ma, am okay!" replied Olivia politely.
"You have to eat before leaving. You are entitled to eat, whatever you cook here Olivia." said the house keeper kindly
"Okay ma'am. I will do that now." said Olivia softly and she dropped her school bag on the table looking forwardly to the housekeeper to serve her.
"Serve yourself dear." said the housekeeper chuckled, she noticed, Olivia was waiting for her to serve the food
"Okay ma." replied Olivia gently
Olivia quickly served herself with eggs, cheese, and bread. She poured small quantity of tea from the jug. She moved over to the stool and started eating. After a while Fred entered the kitchen. Fred was the first son and the first child of Mrs Smith's family. His sister Anita was the second child followed by Ben the last born of the family. Fred was handsome, tall and fair. He was very proud and rude. He rarely smiled and was cold all the time. Ever since his father died, he had been living a wayward life and he even stopped following his family to church although the Smith's family were not really born again Christian. They only practiced religion. Fred love his dad dearly and he thought his dad shouldn't have died in the plane crash.
Fred entered the kitchen and was asking for more eggs and he didn't noticed someone was there with the housekeeper.
"Miss Rose! I need some eggs and..." he stopped halfway and was shocked to see Olivia. She was still putting on her apron dress. She hasn't changed her dress to her school uniform yet. Olivia was looking most fresh and delicate on the dress. Fred was attracted by her beauty and he quickly shrugged it off and said "Who're you and how did you get here?" he asked gazing at Olivia intently
"Sorry Fred, that's Olivia the new cook that stand-in for Mrs bill," Mrs Rose quickly cut in
"The new cook?" he asked mockery.
"Yes, Mrs bill granddaughter." said the house keeper softly
Olivia quickly got up to introduced herself to Fred.
"Good morning, I'm..." Olivia was cut off before she finished introducing herself.
"I've known you already." he said scornfully and he turned to move away.
"Aren't you going to take the eggs you requested for?" said Olivia politely she called him halfway at the door.
He turned and was shocked Olivia could talk to him boldly "How ridiculous!" he thought to himself irritated and went out without uttering any word.
"What happened?" asked Olivia quietly and was confused at his action.
"Ignore him that's how he behave sometimes." said the housekeeper chuckled
"Weird!" Olivia thought to herself and she quickly washed the cups and plates she used for eating
"Let me take you to my room for you to change your clothes." announced the housekeeper.
"Okay ma." Olivia quickly picked her school bag and followed her to her room.
Olivia later changed her dress to her school uniform and by the time she had changed her dress, the kids had already left for school. She couldn't meet the others kids and she also left for her own school. Olivia was attending her school based on scholarship. She was grateful to God to attend such a great school. Her grandmother couldn't afforded it if not for the scholarship. The school was full of rich kids from rich families.
Olivia saw Peter and explained what happened during the week to him. She told Peter about her grandma health and how she started working for Mrs Smith as their new cook recently.
"So how was the new work?" asked Peter concerned.
"Nice I think." she replied curtly.
"Really your first day at work was nice?" asked Peter surprised.
"Mrs Smith is a nice woman that's all I know for now." said Olivia softly
"Okay that's good to hear." said Peter "What about the children hope they're nice to you?" he added
"I don't know yet. I only met one, let me just say he's weird or something. " said Olivia shrugged
"Uhmn okay. Let go inside before the teacher comes in." They both entered the classroom giggling as they walked inside the class.
Olivia and Peter were in the same class, both were not seatmates. They both had different seatmates. Olivia's seatmate was a girl Anna who had crush on Peter secretly, unknowingly to him, likewise Peter's seatmate was a boy Jacob that had crush on Olivia's seatmate (Anna) secretly, unknowingly to Anna.
