"Come inside, grandma's back from work." said Olivia smiling face
"Oh she's back!" he said gently and entered the sitting room with her.
"Yes, and we're cooking right now." she replied cheerfully "Would you sit here while I quickly help grandma with the cooking?" said Olivia softly
"No, I will join you guys." said Peter softly
Olivia quickly cut in and rolled her eyes at him. "Really, you're a boy and..." she said looking at him astonished and he quickly added to her
"And so, I help my mom in the kitchen if you don't know Olly, even the housekeeper can testify to it." replied Peter grinning
"Wow, mommy's boy!" chuckled Olivia. "I love that and I can't wait for you to cook for me one of these days." she quickly added smiling face
Peter was blushing inwardly at what Olivia said and he couldn't wait to cook for her because that was what he had always wanted to do with her. He loved to cook and would watch her sit while doing that, thought Peter inwardly
"One day I would cook a special delicacy for you... I mean one of these days." he said arms crossed. Olivia was flattered and she looked at him huge smile across face
"Can you lead the way to the kitchen please?" said Peter pleased with her beautiful smiled.
"Uhmn,... this way.. please." replied Olivia stuttered.
Olivia was surprised, the way things were turning up, her childhood friend was growing up first and she thought of Peter becoming a man so fast, he looked handsome and looked like a grown man. They both entered the kitchen, Olivia's grandmother was surprised to see Peter followed Olivia into the kitchen.
"Good afternoon, grandma." said Peter bowed politely.
"How are you my son, and how are your parents? asked grandma cheerfully. Olivia's grandmother loved calling Peter her son, she truly adored him for her own grandson. She wished Olivia and Peter would get married to themselves when they grew up.
"I'm fine grandma. and they're all fine too ma'am." replied Peter politely.
"That's nice! Olly, take Peter to the sitting room, while we finished all these things quickly." said her grandma.
Peter quickly cut in. "I would love to help you with the cooking, grandma." he said softly
"Thanks my boy, there's nothing much to do here." said grandma smiling face and gestured to Olivia to take him inside.
"I insist ma." he said again politely
"I don't want you to stress and dirty yourself Peter." said grandma sweat on face
"Cooking is not a stress or dirty work grandma, I love cooking too." replied Peter softly
Olivia's grandmother was delighted to heard that from him.
"Really?" asked grandma looking at him eyes popping open
Olivia quickly cut in "Yes granny, he said he always helped his mom in the kitchen that was what he told me earlier." said Olivia giggling
"Okay if you say so dear." said grandma pleased.
Peter quickly grabbed the blender and asked. "How do you want the pepper ma'am?" he turned to grandma "Very smooth or just smooth?" asked Peter softly
"We're cooking potatoes sauce, just smooth dear." replied grandma smiling at Peter and Olivia was grinning at him.
"Okay ma." said Peter.
He grinded the pepper within three seconds.
"Here's it ma."he said gently and handed the pepper to grandma carefully
Olivia's grandmother was surprised the way he did it fast and the pepper was not too smooth just the way she like it. Olivia noticed the beautiful smile on her grandma's face and she quickly commented for her
"Good job, son!" said Olivia laughing
"Wow, well done my son." said grandma cheerfully said grandma after checking the pepper and she was pleased.
Peter was flattered and said "Don't mention ma, anything else again?" he asked rolling eyes
"Nothing dear can you hand me over the maggie cubes please." replied grandma cheerfully
"Here's it ma!" he said.
"Thanks." And grandma noticed, Olivia had left the kitchen. "Where's Olly?" asked grandma gently
"She had gone outside to throw away the waste bin." replied Peter softly
"Okay, can you turn this for me?" asked grandma.
"Alright ma." he said and collected the spoon from her to turn the stew gently.
Peter's Williams family was Mrs bill neighbor and also Olivia's childhood friend blond, cute with dimples, tall and lean. Aside from his good looks, he was intelligent very humble, and godly too. Olivia grew up having him as her best friend, her adviser, her protector.
They both played together like siblings. Sometimes people mistake them for brother and sister. Peter likes Olivia dearly, he looked over her like a lost puppy. Olivia likes Peter likewise, she loved him like the brother she never had. They both attended the same school, also in the same class. Peter is older than Olivia with a year gap.
Peter had left the kitchen with Olivia, after Olivia's grandmother had instructed them, there was nothing left for them to do again in the kitchen. They rushed to the sitting room for their homeworks.
''Here is it Peter!'' Olivia handed over the assignment book to him straightway
''let me show you how I did mine!'' said Peter corner of mouth arising
"Okay let see it!" replied Olivia rolling eyes.
Peter started solving the assignment slowly and finally arrived to the final answer
"Here we go Olly." said Peter triumphantly.
"Uhmn!" mumbled Olivia quietly
"Yes, did you see how I got it?" asked Peter cheerfully.
"I think, you started from here." she pointed her fingers to the work.
"Yes, you're correct!" replied Peter.
"Now I know it!" said Olivia confidently.
"That would be nice, if you can prove it to me?" he winked his eyes at her playfully.
"Alright let me show you!" replied Olivia vibrantly.
She started solving the equation and followed the steps he used solving the problem and after some minutes she arrived to the answer. "I think am done," said Olivia looking at her work delighted.
"Really!" asked Peter clasping hands. He looked at her work and was stunned "Whoa! bravo! And you deserve a big hug." he said mouth wide open. And Olivia looked at him blushing and she hugged him gently.
"Olly, and Peter, you guys should come over here, food is ready!" announced grandma calling from the kitchen.
"Okay granny, we're coming!" said Olivia quickly. "Food's ready Peter, let's go!" she turned to Peter and stood up.
"Shall we?" asked Peter giggled
"Yes!" replied Olivia cheerfully and both went to the kitchen.
The next day, Olivia was coming back from school and saw the door opened. She knew her grandma always locked the door whenever she's at home or at work.
"Granny, granny are you back?" asked Olivia looking at the door reluctantly.
She didn't hear any response.
"What's happening and why did granny left the door unlocked?" said Olivia heart pounding she noticed the door was not locked inside.
She opened the door and saw the house was quiet unusual.
"Granny, where are you?" shouted Olivia felt intense opening the kitchen door. She quickly ran inside the room and started shouting her grandma's name. "Granny, where are you!" shouted Olivia heavy fast breathing.
