Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: A War in Sight

Cardan Island, in the Lord's Palace.

Akira received a guest early in the morning from the capital city of the Country of Water.

"Your Highness," Chiba greeted respectfully as he watched Akira walk out.

Although it had only been twenty days, Akira's behavior towards Chiba was different now.

"What's wrong?" Akira asked directly, without preamble or preamble.

"His Highness, the Daimyo has passed away," Chiba reported sadly. He had followed the Daimyo for decades and his death affected him deeply. However, the current life of him was not very good.

"Is there anything else?" asked Akira, who, despite being the heir to a Daimyo, had barely seen the Daimyo on several occasions. Apart from regretting that a country's Daimyo couldn't escape death, he didn't have any other feelings about it.

"When the new Daimyo took office, he was enraged by His Highness's capture of the Sea Kingdom, and now he is sending troops to attack it," Chiba reported. Although he was saddened by the Daimyo's death, he knew that his life was still in the hands of his Highness, so he spoke quickly.

"How many soldiers?" Akira asked.

"It is estimated that about 100,000 soldiers, plus the ninja clan, might be involved," Chiba informed Akira with no intention of misleading, and fearfully withdrew after speaking.

One hundred thousand soldiers and various ninja clans were involved. This would definitely be enough to deal with any threat in the surrounding area, but all of them would be used to deal with Cardan Island. It should be noted that the Sea Country's capture was so quick because the Kingdom had no troops of its own.

In Chiba's opinion, they were now like grasshoppers on a string. If Akira couldn't stop the crusade against the Land of Water, he definitely wouldn't survive. Although he didn't believe that Akira would be destroyed, his heart went out to him and supported him.

"I understand. You can leave," Akira said after thinking for a moment, nodding, then motioning for Kitano to hand Chiba Hai a microphone.

"What is this?"

The phone's microphone landed in Chiba Hai's hand, he felt cold and soft, and his hair stood on end, but he didn't dare to drop it. Cautiously, he asked Akira:

"It's a phone worm, named Den-Den Mushi. My number is stored in it. You don't have to write letters in the future, nor do you have to come here. Just speak directly if you have something to say," Akira replied, taking out his own microphone and held it in his hand.

"I understand," Chiba Hai said, carefully placing the microphone in his arms and respectfully withdrawing.

"His Highness, the army of 100,000 people in the Land of Water..." Kitano informed, as Chiba Hai left.

"What? Are you a coward again?" Akira teased, understanding Kitano's concerns.

"No, no, no, his Highness. Kitano is willing to go through fire and water for you," Kitano replied solemnly, kneeling on the ground.

"Okay, get up. I know you're loyal. How have you been working out lately? Would you like to fight me?" Akira asked, wanting to test his own strength.

"Fight with you, his Highness? Aren't you embarrassing me?" Kitano replied, smiling wryly.

"Yuck," Akira sighed, noticing that Kitano respected him too much and didn't dare practice with him.

Suddenly, little Yue's voice sounded from outside the office, calling for help.

"Little devil, what's wrong? Didn't I tell you not to bother His Highness if you don't have anything important to say?" Kitano scolded, opening the door.

"I want to see Lord Lord. That handsome man is a pervert. He bullies us, makes us run non-stop every day, and also makes me and my little sister go shark fishing," Yue complained.

Seeing Akira, Yue came over crying and complaining.

"Yue, I told you. I'm your big sister," Xue said from outside the door.

"Lord Akira…" Yue pleaded, looking pitifully at Akira.

Robb Lucci entered the room and explained that both girls were geniuses.

"Geniuses?" Akira asked, surprised.

"If you can't teach them, then send them away," Akira suggested, frowning.

"It's not that, Your Highness. They are both geniuses," Lucci explained.
