It had not been that long since Martha came there as Henry's personal maid. During that short period what she realised was Henry was a good and sensible child who needed more love.
"He is very good. He is kind, honest, innocent, and also very cute."
Her explanation sounded very normal. Of course, Henry was a normal child. But who knew that normal child was actually 20 years old?
"Mmm...Do you think I can get along well with him? He didn't seem to like me."
Ricarda sat on her bed and asked Martha in a concerned manner.
"Don't worry, miss. I am sure he already likes you. He is just shy to talk with you. Later we can meet him if you want. But now, take a nap. You look tired. I will stay here until you sleep."
Martha was very kind. Even Ricarda who knew her just a few minutes ago felt very lucky to have someone like her. When Ricarda finally fell asleep, Martha went out to do her regular work.
Meanwhile, the little puppy who was left alone in his room was in deep thought.
'I must not panic. She is just a child, just a child. She is not bad. Something must have happened to her at that time... I really don't understand these magical things. If there were police it would have been easy. Sigh...I can't rely on anyone else. I only have myself.'
What he had to do next was find the answers to the questions left by the past actions. He does not know those things. He was sure even the original Henry didn't know any.
As he was dozing off while thinking about what to do, he heard a noise from his room window. That room was huge. But it only had a huge bed which was enough for more than 20 Henrys to sleep in, a working table and chair for it, the little table which carried the lamp, and the cabinet to keep the clothes.
And there was only one door and there were two windows. But it seemed like one of them had broken. Henry couldn't open that window before. So he gave up.
But the sound came from that window. When he got off the bed to check what that sound was, the door opened.
"Young master, the duke invited the master to have dinner together. This servant is here to bring the master."
The servant came in without even knocking, but she was very respectful.
"Next time, remember to knock on the door!"
Henry looked back at the window but didn't go there. He followed the servant to the dining room. It was already past 7 pm.
Henry still didn't have any idea about the watches and timing system there. He didn't know how to read the time.
When he entered the dining room, Ricarda was already sitting there. He saw Martha who was in the corner of the room. But he didn't smile or talk to her. She was not her maid anyway.
After he sat down, the duke asked the servants to serve the food.
After tasting the food, Henry couldn't deny the fact that it tasted heavenly. He ate to his stomach's content. That was very satisfying.
But the duke seemed confused. Whenever Henry took dinner in the dining room with him, he would cover in gloom, and nervousness would be labelled on his face. But at that moment, Henry was eating like a pig who had never seen food before.
"Ricarda, do you like the food?".
The duke put the spoon down and asked her in a soft voice. Henry also looked at Ricarda to hear her answer.
But her answer made Henry feel very disappointed.
"I don't like oily food.".
She didn't comment about the taste, but also the type of food. The servants looked panicked hearing her answer. Since her answer showed she was not pleased with the meal, the servants might get punished.
"Then you should have to tell them beforehand. Let the servants know what you want. They will make it for you."
The duke said and drank the glass of water next to his plate. At the same time, he didn't forget to steal a glance at Henry who looked like a completely different person. Henry glared at Ricarda who pushed a piece of meat into her mouth with elegant actions.
'What are you acting for? It's clear you like the food. Or do you want to win the duke's heart by playing weak and fragile? Huh! Just win, who cares?'
Henry enjoyed the meal. He didn't forget to thank the servants for preparing such a good meal. The servants looked very happy and cheerful. They started to think their young master is the best and kindest child ever.
Ricarda watched him all cheerful and happy. She felt a little envious because he didn't talk with her.
Henry looked cheerful and lovable. That's how he was initially. He felt like he was being himself. It was better than acting like someone else. He thanked anyone who gave him this chance to go back in time even though he still remembered he got transmigrated there.
"Young master, I am your newly appointed personal maid. From now on, I will take care of you."
A woman in her 30s visited him at night. She introduced herself and said her name was Mira.
"Okay, see you tomorrow Mira."
Henry was already sleepy. So he didn't want to converse more than that. He fell asleep.
Mira, the maid, left the room letting him sleep.
