Chapter 37 - ۞ XXXVII ۞

"YES, I CAN!" I SAID ANNOYED AND JUMPED FROM HIM to the front seat, suddenly annoyed for a reason I do not even understand. "I can speak 23 languages," my tone was bitter.

"Oh my God, did you put it on speaker, you idiot?"

"Yes, he did. Congratulations on your pregnancy, Miss Choi!" I added as I began to get dressed again. "I hope your kids come healthy."

"I… I'm sorry," she sounded embarrassed.

I scoffed, "No need for that. Me and your brother do not have anything serious. I just had no idea he had a girl in his heart. That made him sound hypocritical. But again, it's not like we have anything anyways. There's no need for you to feel bad or embarrassed for speaking your mind!"

She gasped, and I'm sure that made her even more embarrassed. Choi Jung-won was still dead silent, with his jaw clenched. "I'm really sorry. It's just that this is a love from his highschool time, hard to forget."

I felt uncomfortable, "I understand. You don't need to explain anything to me, Miss Choi. Really. It's fine."

"My husband is calling me. I'll be off now."

Hah, that's the worse lie ever. But I get it. It's okay.

When she rang up, Jung-won got dressed again and came to the driver seat, still without saying a word, making it more and more unbearable. Making me question myself to why I was feeling mad at him. It's not like I'm not still into Rhys Choi too… but… he made me feel…

Oh, fuck it. "So, you are a hypocrite!"

It took him some minutes to say a word, still with the car parked on the bookstore, the doors locked. "You never asked me anything. If you had, I could have told you."

I clenched my teeth because he has a point. "Hah. What's her name? Maybe I know her and could help you out." I looked at the window, seeing strangers walking down the street, their lives going by normally.

He scoffed, "She has weird name."

"I think I can speak for that."

"Zaya. Zaya Fire LeBeth," Fire? Well, that's weird.

Biting my lip, I held my gasp. "Doesn't she has quite the middle name? Fire. Was her personality also like fire or was she more submissive to suit your dominant shit?"

"No. She definitely wasn't. She was chaotic. And I'm not dominant. You are." I'm not important in this.

I rolled my eyes annoyed with my own annoyance. "We both are, Choi Jung-won. That's why we would never work out. Well, seems like we don't need to worry about that, hm? Since we are both into people from our past."

"You sound bitter."

"I'm not bitter," I snapped.

"Oh, you are bitter!" He exclaimed.

Clenching my jaw, I glared at him. "No. I'm not. And unfortunately, I never heard her name, so I don't know her, thus I cannot help you out."

"What? You want help with the boy you liked?"

Uncomfortable again, I avoided his eyes, "No. That is fruitless. Helpless. At least you know her true name, I do not know his, so, even if I wanted, I can't find him. But do not mind that, I've already accepted it. I just struggle to put this in the past definitively, but I'll find a way. And I do not want to talk about this with you. It's uncomfortable."

I could tell he was smiling, "Uncomfortable? How?"

"When I get an answer to that, I'll tell you. Don't forget that, besides what we did three times already, we only work out on this level. Nothing but that."

"Oh, I know," he's the one sounding bitter now.

"Give me your phone," I held up my hand.

But he didn't give it to me. "No. Why do you want?"

I rolled my eyes, "I have no interest in eavesdropping on your phone, Choi Jung-won. I just want to put a song, because your silence is annoying me, as much as talking to you is making me angry. Hand it to me or free the Bluetooth for me to connect my phone on it."

And the bastard chose the later. "I do not trust you with my phone, so I prefer not to risk it. Speaker is free. You can connect yours on it."

"Asshole," I cursed before connecting my phone to his car. As I opened the Spotify, I put Hush Little Baby by Ashley Ryan to play. "Now, take us out of here." Then I proceeded to ignore him as the song played.

I closed my eyes as Different World by Alan Walker, Sofia Carson, Corsak, and K-391 began to play, as I've always loved this song and it makes me kind of emotional.

But as the different ringtone I set to differ Debora's calls rang, I opened my eyes right away, and picked up, not caring if it was on the speaker of the car. "Debora? Did anything happen, babe?"

"Hi, boss. I wanted to know if you are okay. Flower and Chase had called us yesterday to tell a bit of what happened, and I got worried. Did those despicable hellcats mess with you again? If yes, I'll be on my way with Leo to help you out. They also said you got involved with your parents' boss, is that true?"

I licked my lips, "We had sex."

"Once?" She asked suspiciously. I couldn't help the anxious giggle that came out of my throat. "Jesus, boss, did you break your rule for your family's boss?" She chuckled. "Is that some kind of revenge on your family?"

"It's not like that."

"Then did you only had sex twice or more than twice? Because you never has sex with anyone for more than two times. It's your rule. Your golden rule. You didn't break it, did you?" Aye, this is annoying.

I can feel his stare on me, but I'm ignoring it full heartedly. "It was accidental, okay? We were drunk."

"Only in the first…" I covered his mouth glaring at him and he licked my mouth, making me flinch and back away. "What? You talked on my call, now we are even."

"Asshole."

"Jesus, boss, are you together?" Debora gasped.

"If by that you mean in the same place, yes. But don't misunderstand. And if Flower and Chase ask, don't say a word. They only know about the first time, and I don't want them on my toes messing with me because of this jerk!"

She gasped, "Chase told me you and this guy have a complicated relationship and that you are attracted to each other, but you kind of hate each other. Is that it?"

"Chase talks too much. I should put that asshole to work more. If he has time to gossip about my sex life with you, them he has extra time to work," I scoffed. "I don't hate him, but I don't like him either. I like his body, but his personality is shit."

"Your is. Not mine," he snapped.

"So, it all started because of alcohol," Deb giggled.

"Yeah, yeah. Think what you want. But don't go too far with that wild imagination of yours, Deb. Did anything else happen?"

Sigh, "No. I mean, White Peacock is back and she also asked me to ask you what she should do next, since she finished programming that stuff you told her to."

"Tell her to investigate Christopher De Villiers!"

"Everything?"

I nodded even though she wasn't seeing me. "Yes. Every needle she can find. She's the best programmer and hacker I have after myself, so she can do it. Then tell her to call me when she's done and send all the files she could gather on my other emails."

And I could tell she was nodding, "Yes, boss. Are you sure you doesn't want us to go to you?"

"No. You haven't been married for long, so, enjoy your newlywed life, Deb. You are already doing too much for me. Just tell Leo to buy the same whiskey I bought to the CEO, and send it back to me. I was impulsive and told Dean I would give him three bottles too, and now he's on my toes for it. Send it here on one of the boxes I made."

"Okay, boss. We'll do as you said. But are you okay? And did your… I mean, your family's boss enjoy the Dove? Did you gave it to him?" I closed my eyes when she said that.

He gasped, "You were going to give me a Dove?"

"No, Deb. I didn't. But you just spoiled it to him."

She cursed, "Oh, sorry, boss. I thought you were going to give the whiskey together with the Dove prototype."

Sigh, "Fine. It's fine. Two more things. With the whiskeys, send me the scripture of the Mayfair mansion I bought a year ago. Plus six extra prototypes of Dove. There's something I want to do."

"Are you moving to London, boss?"

"Absolutely not. We've talked about this, Deb. So, just do what I told you, okay?"

She exhaled loudly, "Yes, boss."

"Keep this from Flower and Chase. I don't want you all gossiping about my sex life again. Or I'll get mad," I said calmly but intimidatingly.

"Understood. Sorry, boss. We were just worried."

"I know. That's why I'm not mad!" Then I hang up on her face and Drunk-Dazed by ENHYPEN began to play automatically from where it was when Debora called, and as it was ending already, She Said He Said She Said by Joshua Bassett began to play, so I tuned down and turned to him, who was still staring at me. "Ask what you want to know, Choi. Quit staring at me like that, it's annoying."

I hadn't even seen when he parked the car, but he did. This time in a parking lot. "Who was that? Who is Leo? What did she meant but your golden rules? How do you have contact with the White Peacock?"
