"DON'T ASK ME DIFFICULT QUESTIONS, JERK. THAT'S NOT THE POINT. So, I kind of broke there and when I realized, he was sitting there watching the whole thing." Sigh. "I think I've never been so embarrassed in my life, but he was kind at first. We sat down and talked a bit, but then he freaked out when Chase came down and greeted me. He probably misunderstood the whole thing thinking I'm with that dumbass, and stormed out. It was so damn sudden, Dean. I swear. Flower came down the second after it so confuse. It was like he switched his mood in a simple snap. Bipolar asshole."
My brother giggled amused, "Oh, and here we were thinking the worst. But why did he react like that? Were you flirting with him or something?"
I cringed, "Hell no. He pressed the matter until I told him a bit about Rhys, but just superficially. No name dropping. And when he left he said a bunch of strange shit I couldn't understand. He's as weird as he is hot, Dean. How infuriating."
He gave me a dirty look, "So, you do think he's hot."
Rolling my eyes, I finished the vodka, "I have eyes."
"Still, you said he wasn't your type."
Blinking, I glared at him, "Let him believe that. It'll be better for us to keep our distance. He really managed to make me angry, so I don't really care now. That guy is an asshole. Bipolar, volatile, stupid, arrogant, and rude. His beauty is outshined by all of this, so it's a big no for me."
He bit his bottom lip, "I kind of thought you would kiss."
I coughed and gave him a disgusted look, "Kiss who?"
"You and Choi Jung-won. I thought you would kiss."
"And you think I have the habit of kissing frogs? Come on, Dean. I'm better than that, alright? There's no way I would kiss that asshole. His looks may be my type, but I'm deeply annoyed by that personality of his. What an annoying bitch, let me tell you."
"Will you really buy me the three bottles of that whiskey and make one of that boxes for me?" Hah, was that what he wanted to ask all the time?
"I said I would, didn't I? So I will. Even if it was an impulsive action of mine, I'll keep my word. Don't worry."
After staring at each other for some time, he grinned, "You do have quite the chemistry, though. Even the kids felt it. I was surprised. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who also thought you two were about to jump in each other's mouths."
What the hell is he saying? "Stop whatever is it that you are trying to do. Don't you dare to pull out a matchmaker-card on me, got it? You think I'm not aware that you've been doing that shit to all of our siblings and your friends?" I scoffed, "So, don't even waste your time on this, I have no interest in messing around with your boss. Looks aren't everything. And besides," I clenched my jaw, "I don't have the mindset to have anything like that to someone who's so involved with my family."
"Is that still because of Rhys Choi?"
Clenching my fists, I closed my eyes for a second, "If you keep mentioning that, Dean, it's not going to be good for you, brother. I'll kick you so hard that you will never be able to have kids again. So, keep your mouth zipped, and stop joking around with that. You will make me regret telling you about him!"
"About who?" Aaron came closer with Beatrice and Cameron, all with glasses with vodka in hand.
"That doesn't concern you."
Bea gave me a mischievous grin, "Did you sleep with him?"
"How did you know the CEO before?" Cam asked.
Sighing, I got up, and gave them my best smile, "Don't offend me like that, my dear sister. But if you guys are worried about me becoming the girlfriend of your boss or some other bullshit like that, don't even waste your time. I met him a while ago and we definitely don't like each other."
She arched her eyebrows and grinned, "That's not surprising. It would be a miracle if a guy like him ever got interested in someone like you, sister. You aren't really the type to take to their parents, are you?"
I felt something inside of me hurt and recoil, "Keep talking." Winking at her, I turned around and went to get more alcohol. Feeling sick with what she said. My eyes burning for some stupid reason. "Like I care. Whatever. I don't want to meet anyone's parents anyways." When I found a waitress with a tray full of champagne, I took and drank one right away and took another two with me.
But before I could head out of here without them noticing, someone held my forearm from behind. "Darling, you can't go yet. We haven't even eaten dinner," it was grandma Alice.
Her touch made me want to break down in tears, but I held it together. I Hope You're Miserable Until You're Dead by Nessa Barrett was playing on the speakers, which made it all more annoying for me. He's young, so now I get why this playlist. "Grandma, I'm not really in the mood for staying here, okay? I just…" I inhaled sharply, "I want to work."
Grandpa Matthew came from behind me and kindly pushed me away from the door. "You promise you would stay for dinner. So, stay for dinner."
Sighing, I drank the two glasses of champagne one after the other, "I want a reward for staying here tonight, got it? Because it's being fucking hard. It's uncomfortable. And I don't want to see my family or those damned guests."
Grandma Scarlett caressed my hair, "You were talking to your siblings, did they say something mean to you?"
I clenched my teeth, "I'm used to it."
Then grandpa Christian took the glasses from my hand and pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back. "Oh, dear. Are you on your period?"
